Today, I was at Home Depot getting a Christmas tree with my family. While picking out a tree, a man thought it would be nice to help cut off the string that held the tree together. The branches hit me in the face and the guy managed to cut my hand. FML

Thats the point of this website you ******* ****-strimmer.

I have to agree with the masses on this one. He was lending a hand, and an accident happened. And besides, this is only one side of the story. For all we know, the guy could have offered to cut the string and you accepted, only he cut the string before you were ready. And you're making everything out to be his fault, because it was embarrassing. Who knows?

Poor service? Talk to the manager if it's bad enough to be posted on FML.

People write "First!" because it is their greatest achievement in life.

agreed, nothing you could have really done about this one.. FYL

Oh boo hoo. It was an accident. He was trying to be helpful, stop whining about it online.

Then give the gift that keeps on giving - complain about his behavior to management and watch the spiral commence.

don't be a douche, I'm sure he had no intention of hurting the OP, and if she complains he will lose his job. Its tough out there and he may not find another job. Sometimes accidents happen.

He cut her hand, which most likely involved blood, which can cause health risks. I know I probably sound like a paranoid germaphobe right now, but "accidents" like that can potentially get people nasty infections. No, I don't mean "The flu" I mean Hepatitis, or something else you can't get rid of. If the kid's making "accidents" like that, does he really need to be weilding a knife in the store?

Finally someone has common sense. Its not a big deal. He was helping them cut off the string (don't know y but that's what she said). And hitting her was an accident. This isn't an FML unless she really got hurt badly.

You deserve it for buying a Christmas tree at the Home Depot. How about supporting a local tree farm, Mr. Big-Buisness?

Where I'm from, the trees at Home Depot, Wal*Mart, Canadian Tire etc. ARE from local tree farms. They are usually set up in the parking lot of these stores, with permission from the owners of course.

Same here #17! I don't think any of those places actually sells Christmas trees.
