Today, I celebrated my 18th birthday. Alone. My only birthday wish came from the police officer who gave me a ticket. FML

Sometimes, cops give you tickets, when you didn't do anything. My mum once got a ticket, and took it to court. Guess who lost? The cop.

my mom got a ticket on my birthday a couple years ago...pulling into the parking lot of the restaurant we were going to to celebrate my birthday :P
My parents forgot my birthday, and then, when she remembered after a long rant about him, mom told me that she had only married dad because she was pregnant with me.

That sucks OP. Happy Birthday! I've been there. My 16th birthday. Friends forgot, Parents forgot, little sisters forgot, but I did get a postcard in the mail from my pediatricians office saying "Happy birthday! You're sixteen now, which means you're older than our age cut-off so you need a new doctor." At least I didn't get a ticket though. I'm sorry sorry. Happy Birthday. Hope your next one is better.

I almost got arrested on my birthday, too bad the birthday gods didnt save you from getting a ticket like they saved me. better luck next birthday. I mean, we cant always have good days.

I turned 18 a few months ago and my birthday sucked too, mainly because i blew my friends of to spend time with my family instead, and my family didn't want to know. Not because i have no friends, that could easily be the case here, i wouldn't jump to the conclusion the OP didn't have any friends

Your clearly an idiot for realizing that when you "wish someone a happy birthday" it is what is said when someone says the phrase happy birthday meaning the only person nice enough to say two words on the 18th anniversary of someone being born is the person giving them a ticket for a mild road infraction.
That's what you get for celebrating your 18th birthday by going 18 mph over the speed limit. You should be thanking that cop, if he hadn't made you see the error of your ways you probably wouldn't have lived to 50.
In life sometimes you have to deal with being by yourself for big holidays or special events, it just happens sometimes. You need to toughen up!! This will happen again at some point in life. Don't pity yourself either if you are trying to find friends, people will not want hear that.

Hey, happy birthday. I can relate to the hurt your feeling.
Make a resolution to have a better 19th birthday. Get out there, meet some people, and surround yourself with people you care for and who care about you. It's too much of a burden to go it alone in this world. Take some chances, open up to the world, and hopefully in 365 days you'll be celebrating.
@48; Chill, dude. Not everyone is sociable and makes friends easily. Just because you can't relate to that doesn't mean you can't show some sympathy and compassion for the OP. You try celebrating your 18th birthday alone. Report back to me how it went.
