Today, good news! The guitar I have been saving up for, for 5 months, finally arrived. It came inside a beautiful black and white case, and impossible to get into without the key. They didn't pack the key. FML

agree with number 9, no big deal at all... earlier this summer my $1,000 new windsurfing sailboard came beautifully packed and they forgot to pack the fin, so I *gasp* called them and they sent down the missing essential part. No big deal.

You could probably get it opened without damage at a locksmith's. It'll cost you and the situation sucks, but you're not totally screwed.

And this is FML why? They forgot to send you the key. Call a locksmith and have them make you a key. Or call them and make them overnight you a key at their expense for not shipping it to you in the first place.
Most lockable guitar cases use the same universal key.

I doubt your life SUCKS because they forgot to send you a key that opens a guitar you've been saving up for 5 months. Anyone with common sense would call the company and they'll send you the key at no expense. The only thing that sucks is that you just have to be more patient and wait for the key to arrive.

What if he brought a receipt for the purchase? Would that eliminate the problem you had?
I agree with the people who are saying to call the company or the seller, though. That's probably a better solution.

If you open it and find nothing after you get the key , you might post another FML , a much better one.

Get a haircut, buy some nice clothes, and start paying attention in high school.

What if he is already out of high school? What if he doesn't have long hair and what if he does have nice clothes? I know plenty of boys who look appropriate and they play the guitar. They may not act mature but just because they play the guitar doesn't mean they look like rockstars. People blame our generation but they never stop to think about who the hell raised us. This would probably be why your child is telling you to fuck off and leave them alone. If I were you, I'd take thier advice.

Why would the case come locked? Idk, just seems weird to me.....when I ordered my guitar it didn't come locked. Totally not saying this is fake or anything, just seems weird that's all.
Impossible is nothing. I'm sure you can get the case open if you really want to.

Either you make a ridiculously small wage, or you bought the most awesome guitar ever. Easy solution either way - force your way in to the case or have them ship a key.
If it is that nice of a guitar, you didn't pay for the bitchin case, you payed for the bitchin guitar. Just force the lock or cut in to the case. If you "can't live" another day without playing it then quit being a whiny little bitch and get it out of there.
If you payed more for the case than the guitar is worth to you, and you saved for 5 months, then you fail on too many levels for me or anyone else to help you. If that is your case, then just off yourself now and save everyone else the wasted time of having to deal with you.
