Seriously? Guitar strings aren't very expensive. Replace them - it isn't hard. This is in no way an FML - if she had damaged the guitar itself, then it'd be worthy, but strings? Come on!
The fretboard will start to warp if the tension the strings create is missing for an extended period of time. A day or two won't hurt. If anything, the most the OP will have to do is a slight truss rod adjustment, and I doubt he'll even need to for this, since I assume he plays it every day, and his grandma probably cut them that same day.

Feck off troll - it takes time for the fingerboard to warp. Wood shift takes time, and if it took enough time for him to notice his unstrung guitar such that it were permanently and noticeably damaged, he should not be playing a Les Paul in the first place. He found the guitar in his bedroom - it is almost a certainty that he found it within 12 hours, and as such, any damage would be temporary and microscopic, fixed simply by the reapplication of the tension of new strings. On the off-chance that he didn't return for several days, there exists a thing called a truss rod, which exists for the express purpose of correcting neck warp. I suggest you learn more of wood as well as guitars before correcting someone.
I do feel sorry for OP having to deal with his grandma, I just don't feel it is an FML

So what? ZOMG she cut your strings! Replacing strings takes like 5 minutes and I've never seen a pack of strings is like 5 dollars. If the guitar itself was damaged (and it's a Gibson not an Epiphone) then FYL. If it wasn't, it's not bad at all, you probably needed to change strings anyway. Atleast you don't have a Floyd rose tremolo like my guitar. Restringing can tale an hour and you have to resting like every 2 weeks.
Seriously though, 5 dollars for a new pack of strings=FML? Do you think that guitar is broken forever? If you do, WTF are you doing with a Les Paul anyway

The fretboard is designed to have the tension of the strings on it. Removing them all at once can warp it, which decreases the sound quality.

The fact that Elixirs are $10 a pack for electric strings doesn't change the fact that they're susceptible to a wire cutter. Same goes for any other strings you buy for a guitar.
In this case, it doesn't matter if OP was using cheap Wal*Mart strings or Elixirs, they got cut regardless.

elixers cost ten bux and last about 3 months (if you play alot), and they have a great sound that lasts longer.

Has anyone realized that it was wrong of his Grandma to damage his property? Just because it's inexpensive to fix does not give her the right to damage his stuff.

If it was on the floor, who knows what else is damaged? Strings are cheap. Pickups, not necessarily.
And for the record, I quit playing guitar for years in college because I couldn't afford to restring it. Just because it's inexpensive doesn't mean its affordable for all.

For all of you who are criticizing Christians...I play at church and let me tell you...that's not how all of us are...it's more the old school tradional way of thinking...if you can to the church I play at, our music has alot of similarities with U2, creed, and many rock bands you're familiar with. OP that was a crappy thing to do...yesterday I found my 800 dollar strat with not only a string broken, but two places where something was knocked against it and chipped through the finish into the wood. She should NOT have touched your guitar. At the church I grew up in what I play at church would most likely be called devils music too. Not because of the lyrics but the sound apparently makes it automatically bad. That really sucks...I'm sorry your g-ma did that.,.to everyone that said just get new strings...it's the principle of it. Yeah they're cheap but the guitar may not have needed new strings. Well if it was a gibson les paul i feel very very sorry for you. If it was an eppiphone, I would not feel as bad because eppis are not half as nice as a gibson. Thats why i keep my Gibson SG LOCKED in its case when im not playing it. I hope your les paul is ok though. And it might be a good idea to invest in a case that has a lock on it if you dont own one already.

It says in my Gibson owners manual, that you should NEVER have all the strings removed at the same time.
Here's a quote from the manual on the subject of strings:
"When changing strings, we recommend changing one string at a time in order to maintain tension on the neck and bridge. The pressure of the strings holds the bridge and saddles it in place, and removing all the strings could necessitate a new setup."

She did probably damage the guitar itself aswell. When you cut all of the strings off at once, the neck of the guitar will be relieved off much pressure quickly. That makes the neck bend slightly, the wood stretch (might crack) and you get a more "sour" sound from it, especially on an expensive guitar like a Gibson. That is why you shan't remove all of the strings at once when changing them.
Your last sentence makes you sound like a huge tool. Shan't stands for shall not, and since you aren't controlling them, it's only a recommendation. The word you're looking for is shouldn't because you're only advising against it. I agree with you on how it fucks up the guitar though. If anyone did that to me, I would probably start crying. Lmao.
