You should've returned the favour and poked her in her fake fucking boobs, and iced the moment off with some accompanying horrific and gruesome squishing and bursting sounds.

Ahahaha #4 that was great. LMAO.
Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.
I'm sorry to post this at the top folks, but I'm just as pissed as hell.
How could you people reject an FML regarding the anniversary of my deceased wife as of Sept 11th, 2001, and my wishes to remember those lost and keep their families and loved ones in thought and prayer?
I know it was eight years ago, but this was a tradgedy that rocked the U.S. to it's very core, and the world, to an extent, shared deeply in this devestating event. Is it already so insignificant that nobody cares, or were you just trying to avoid potential debate on the matter?
To FML staff, I would highly appreciate if you did not remove this post, as I am quite curious as to what people think of this matter, and I am not in any way trying to start a flame fest, or whatever else you may call people being negative.
Thanks
I have no idea as I didn't moderate it, but perhaps you didn't format it with 'Today,' and 'FML' correctly? Perhaps your spelling was too poor? Or perhaps the others realised that this site really isn't a memorial one and that a humorous element it all but mandatory... I feel for your loss, believe me, but this really isn't the place.
You don't post a memorial about something painful in a place some people go to alleviate pain by having a laugh. The towers weren't just full of Americans, but people from around the world. I lost an Aunt in the tower destruction, she and myself are Canadian. She worked for the UN.
Some people need to 'forget' to move on. It doesn't mean we don't remember who was lost. It just means for people like me, the event was so painful that bringing the event back into full scope might put us into a depressive state. I doubt the people we mourn would want us to live unhappily because of what happened.
We all have our way to deal with it. To impose your methods onto others is preaching. If you want to share what happened, find a place that tells you they accept memorials, don't tell people they're wrong because they didn't do it for you (especially a humorous website).
I was about to say the same thing, hats off dude
sorry but thats way too serious of a matter for fml, im sorry for your loss but that type of thing is not for fml
Because it didn't happen Today.
#83 - On 09/11/2009 at 4:50pm by Draq
Its because this website's stories are supposed to be funny. Not some sort of tragic story where people expect to get moral support n stuff.
Agreed. Plus I couldn't give a shit :)
On another note: statiscally 9/11 of Americans won't get this joke, while 7/7 of British people will.
Wow, that 9/11 and 7/7 joke is mean. :P
I got it, and im British.
#113 - On 09/12/2009 at 12:01pm by ItsnotfairBW
@15 because as an australian i dont consider it to be important.
i realise people died and its a tragedy and all, and at the time of course id have understood and agreed with you.
8 yrs later...its over. its done. worse things have happened in the world that i dont follow anymore, so im not gonna bother with something thats already overhyped as it is. you lost someone so its personal for you, it isnt for me. to be really honest im sick of hearing about it. yes america, you guys got hit back, and it sucked. youre not the first, youre not the last, and youre nowhere near the worst hit.
that said, living there i imagine the reasoning may be different :P
you wanted an honest answer...
haha im sorry that really sucks but its kinda funny :P
hahahhahahahhahahahaha. ure probly not working enough 20 min isnt enough u have to do at least 1000 per day. im a girl and thats what i do but not just to look good but to get fit. ;]
1000 minutes?
he's not fucking rocky.
I think he meant 1000 pushups, in which case I reply: WHAT THE FUCK, HE WANTS A SIX-PACK, NOT TO TURN HIMSELF INTO A PILE OF ASH, YOU FUCKING STUPID SHIT! Please for the love of Christ will you just throw yourself off a six-story building.
no not minutes like 1000 times of abs. omfg. u guys r retarded.
oh yes, WE are retarded for not being able to speak cretin...
@39: Err, dare I refer you to your own spelling, or lack thereof? I'm guessing you ran it through a spellchecker, but even that couldn't fucking make sense of your words. I guess what I'm TRYING to say is: please go hang yourself? Like the above said, not all of us speak this Cretin Creole dialect of yours.
"1000 times of abs"?? LMAO. I think you mean "reps". And abs are the muscles, not the name of an exercise. AND it's a bit hypocritical of you to be calling other people retarded despite apparently not being able to figure out that if you're comparing two different quantities you need a verbal qualifier for each, otherwise the same qualifier (in this case minutes) will be assumed for both.
...I don't even know why I said that last part, chances are you won't understand it.
#56 - On 09/11/2009 at 3:12pm by null
ok no offense but ure taking it way to serious. fact is people that think that a person is able to do 1000 min per day of abbs is retarded, I would think that people on this mediocre website would be able to guess that i meant 1000 reps, and actually some people to call it abs its just another way of calling it. well it is my fault, expecting you people with no life to understand such things.
and you can't tell by your own spelling why people would think you were stupid enough to suggest 1000 minutes rather than reps?
Null wins.
"1000 min per day of abbs"
Was that fucking English?
You REALLY shouldn't talk about others' intelligence.
WTF no 3?
So you sit in your house and do 1000 sit-ups or crunches or whatever EVERY day?
I'm getting a defined 6, but I only do like 30-40 crunches on a weight machine every other day.
Are you retarded or something?
Actually, I looked at your other posts, number 3m anbd I have my answer to the afforementioned question.
Deepest Sympathy to the 9/11 guy widow.
ok actually yes i do because i play tennis at an international level and thats part of my work out. So yes and stfu all u guys are fat and have no life. =]
1000? So almost 17 hours a day? Are you fucking retarded?
#8 - On 09/11/2009 at 1:59pm by Rota
no r u retarded how the hell would u think that 1000 takes 17 hours per day? like seriously. i do them in about 30 min. so i bet ure pretty fat if you do 1000 in 17 hours. hahaha lmao.
You said "ure probly not working enough 20 min isnt enough u have to do at least 1000 per day." This means something like "20 minutes isn't enough, you have to do 1000 minutes a day", translating to 16 hours and 40 minutes.
#47 - On 09/11/2009 at 3:01pm by arienh4
1000 situps, each taking 3 seconds each (a _good_ one) would take 50 minutes... If you don't stop at all or slow down.
no UR retarded hes saying since you said 1000 mins thats like 17 hours duhh
#104 - On 09/11/2009 at 9:58pm by mylifeisfuckedd
True, leave a little bit of time in betweem, and remember that it is NOT about the reps (1000 really fast push ups isnt that great) but try doing 50 slow ones, like 2 seconds up 2 seconds down and then do a couple sets of those...then start up a day or two after.
hey, the P90X Ab Blaster is a half hour 3 times a week (in addition to the other things you do every day), and it gets results~maybe you just aren't doing it right, or it's ALL you're doing.
yeah, um... Spot training.... does not work, and your abs are a muscle, you have to work them every other day, not everyday, so your definatly not working out right.
AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHA favorited'
Hey genius, you have to do cardio to get a six pack.
Exactly, you could blast your abs for 5 hours a day but if you dont loose the fat on top of the abs it wont do a thing.
Also make sure youre doing the right kind of ab work. A lot of people just do crunches and dont realize that they are only working out a small part of their abdominal muscles...you need to work upper lower and side as well to see a real impact.
Oh and dont be discouraged, a month of exercise isnt really that much...you need to keep at it for a while and you will eventually get results ;)
Wow, that was quick to get buried. Properly formatted, and as you can see here, my spelling is exemplary. Just.... I don't know, but look how fast this got buried. What's wrong with this people? I'm just looking for opinions here.
You did make a couple of spelling mistakes in your first post, but it's fine. I do think burying the comment was a bit much though, but hey, some of the 'people' here would vote YDI on a story of some guy losing his entire family in a massacre, so eh...
Comments don't get buried by moderators (all the time). Read my reply to your first comment, you may get a notion as to why you got buried so quickly.
20 minutes isn't enough ;)
You should've poked her back, and said "Yeah, you should be used to that huh?"
-www.HatePost.com- Post Your Pet Peeves !
Thanks for the response twiggly.
That's all I was looking for, and you make an excellent point. I don't mean to preach or impress my opinions on others, and I may have worded my original post badly.
All I was looking for was an opinion like this. To me, that's one of the biggest FMLs of my life, but as some people have said, it's probably to big for this site.
I didn't realize that so many people came here to forget their own grievances, and I probably should have.
I just want to apologise for any bad memories I may have stirred up, and thank anyone who replied for their honest opinion on the matter.
You're a big guy for that :) I wish there was something I could do to alleviate that pain :/
Hey people do the math apparently rota did
What is 1000 divided by 60?
It equals 16.666667
Which would if you were rounding by hundreds it would be 16.67
If by tens 16.7
If by wholes 17
So almost 17 hours would be correct
And for the person that called out rota you are the one that is stupid and/or incompetent
And for the person that said it takes you 17 hours to do 1000 mins than you must be fat as hell
News flash, you can't physically do 1000 mins of crunches in 17 hours, it's impossible
However you could do 1000 mins of crunches in 16.66666667 hours
Math people, and a little common sense is very helpful
I think debbtennis meant "1000 sit-ups" not "1000 minutes". In your defense, the wording is bad. But in her defense she meant "1000 sit-ups takes more then 20 minutes".
/facepalm
yes thank you twiggly. at least some one on this site has common sense. yes i did mean 1000 sit ups. like u mentioned above it wouldnt be physically possible to do 1000 min.
"And for the person that said it takes you 17 hours to do 1000 mins than you must be fat as hell... Math people, and a little common sense is very helpful"
lol, i think you're the one lacking in the sense department... and also perhaps the math one.
He's right though. Very sneakily, 1000 mins isn't 17 hours but 16 2/3rd.
#49 - On 09/11/2009 at 3:04pm by arienh4
Even so, 1000 reps would take 50 minutes of _non-stop_ sit-ups with 20 sit-ups a minute. Can YOU do that?
no offense, but 20 sit ups a minute is very little. it's hardly exercise any more.
anyway, if you can do 1000 repetitions in anything, then the exercise is too easy, and you should probably try to make it harder.
whether your muscles show is mostly about fat percentage, which is why most fit females don't have abs - females tend to have a higher fat percentage.
1) A month isn't long enough.
2) If all you're doing is ab strengthening work, you're just going to end up with a 6 pack underneath that beer gut. Go burn some fat, fattie.
sorry but YDI, 20 minutes of workout is not enough. it's supposed to be 30 to 40 of cardio and then at least 30 minutes of the zone you're trying to work-out specifically
#36 - On 09/11/2009 at 2:38pm by catticho
Those figueres are a load of bull and you know it.
30 minutes of cardio is a good rule of thumb. But people don't take into account food consumption, hydration (water helps with digestion, absorption of good nutrients, and more), and overall metabolisms of themselves.
As an example, I know I put on muscle a lot easier then other guys. But I also take a lot longer to lose fat. Unlike a friend of mine, he can't put on an ounce of muscle no matter how much he tries, but he can burn through fat faster then the land speed record. So I always have to do more cardio compared to my friend to burn just as much fat, but he has to do A LOT more weight training to put on half as much muscle as I do.
Rules of thumb are great. But people have to get to know their bodies better to make better gains.
Yes I re-read it a couple of times the it made sense. And repyourcliche, you quoted me but I was quoting debbie- something....read the comments
and about my first post haha please disregard it I understand what debbie- whatever was saying
But the wording was bad
oh indeed, so you were.
apologies ^-^
Her wording was "bad"? Sir, you are a MASTER of poetic understatement. I tip my hat to you.
#59 - On 09/11/2009 at 3:17pm by null
She was probably flirting. I used to flirt by doing the same thing, no matter how tone/buff (or not) the guy was.
#54 - On 09/11/2009 at 3:09pm by euthymic
... you used to flirt by surreptitiously calling people fat?
And how did that work out for you?
"Squish" wasn't meant to call them fat. It was a way for me to express a sort of affection using a silly word, and the poking was just an excuse to touch the object of my affection. It actually worked out quite well, and it's something I still sometimes say when I hug my current boyfriend. He seems to like it :).
#79 - On 09/11/2009 at 4:33pm by euthymic
agreed. and "squish" doesn't only apply to fat-- poking any soft tissue can potentially result in a squish. Even muscle is relatively soft to poke at if it's not flexed. As for surreptitiously calling people fat: if it's obvious the other person is not fat and you make it obvious that you don't actually mean they are fat, then yes that's a form of flirting.
To use an analogy that someone else has used before: If an attractive girl says to an ugly/gross/disgusting guy "ew get away from me; you're gross" while wincing and frowning, that's not flirting. However, if she says the same thing to an attractive guy while smiling and moving closer toward him / increasing physical contact, then that is flirting.
flirting is retarded. :/
i'll stick with being fairly straightforward.
You can do as many ab exercises as you want and it will not help your abs unless you lose body fat. Body fat resides over the ab muscles and so exercising them without losing body fat won't help your abs look better. Spot exercise does not work.
well keep it up. you'll get there one day.
#61 - On 09/11/2009 at 3:30pm by jane99
you guys have it all wrong.
working out your abs 20 mins a day only strengthens the muscles there is still a layer of fat, and the only way to get rid of that is doing thirty mins of cardio everyday.
If you want abs you might wanna try going for an hour a day rather than 20min. . .
#64 - On 09/11/2009 at 3:39pm by Cendhalia
The man with the hardest stomach I've ever felt is actually pretty chubby.
I think you two accidently got your stomachs switched.
Are you sure it was his stomach that was hard? I think you might've been feeling the wrong place. :)
#92 - On 09/11/2009 at 5:33pm by null
LMAO
Well I certainly hope it wasn't THAT place... it was my father's friend!
Even if you have a six-pack, it doesn't help if you have a keg on top of it.
honestly, everyone is going to have a little squish. and maybe that was just her reaction to poking people. im sure it was nothing personal,
20 minutes isn't enough.
Also, just working on abs is pointless. If you want to look toned, you need to work on your entire upper body, and you need to eat less so there's no fat on top of the muscle.
That could be flirting - you might think it's an insult, but the fact that she's comfortable enough with it to lightly joke around might say something. There's also a lot of touching in flirting, so keep your eye on her.
#72 - On 09/11/2009 at 4:19pm by justjayit
You shoulda forcefully poked her in the spadge with your meat rocket and said squish
You should have rammed a finger into her skull and said, "Empty!"
Its called a joke.
Some girls flirt when they do that.
Dumb ass.
you should do like an hour a day, 20 min does nothing. YDI
#86 wtf is wrong with you? hahahahahhahahah
dude that blows. maybe try doing ur workout longer.
Do all the ab work you people want. 20 min, 1000 min, 1000 reps. Fat loss and Overall muscle gain are the keys to visible abs. They are skeletal muscle and do not grow the way other major muscle groups do. If things like the ab wheel worked we'd all be 500lb of flab everywhere but our midsections, which would be tiny and rock hard.
#89 - On 09/11/2009 at 5:20pm by neya
dude, u gotta do more thn 20 minutes. if ur only going 20 u gotta go all out. im trained and it took me all summer 2 hours full blast 6 days a week to get a 6 pack. and i was vry skinny to start with
Why do ppl get so offensive on these comments.. So weird. And can't plays just talk about the FML . I think OP should be able to approve comments. That way there's no stupid comments
#94 - On 09/11/2009 at 6:22pm by iice_ee
I've seen that even people who have six pack abs still feel "squish" so you shouldn't feel so bad about yourself, just keep on keepin' on.
You should have "skished! it back-when will you straight men realise that these hideous women have you on a string. Jesus, ditch the bitch and switch!!
I am the OP and...
1) whoever said it earlier... I am doing the P90X ab ripper
2) I also have been running 2 miles nearly every other day
3) I have also been going to the gym and taking supplements
4) I'm not fat at all, in fact very skinny
5) This was the girl I liked
6) yes, I squished her back
#97 - On 09/11/2009 at 7:26pm by sndc
Oh good, 'cause she sounds like lots of fun, so I'm sure the squishing back won you points.
And no, I'm not being sarcastic. I like to poke people too.
BowFlex doesn't work! Flab is flab.
#98 - On 09/11/2009 at 7:47pm by Jincos
Just to let you no you cant just work on your abs and expect them to just show.. Having abs is about having a good diet, just google it.
Keep at it dude.
Im starting work on my abs/chest starting this week. I dont expect much results in the next month.
Plus, you cant do it daily. you gotta let them rest too
You get abs by eating right, you need a low body fat percentage. Working your abs will just
give you stronger muscles not definition.
I don't understand how a story who was insulted by his ab work by a girl poking them and saying squish would be a memorial to someone who died on September 11th. if this was posted on September 12 and someone had said something like "lol fail" would that have been appropriate. and what the hell us with "hats off dude" do we really have to do that hats off bullshit all the time. are we doing it so that the dead persons spirit can kiss the top if our heads or something stupid like that?
YDI FOR BEING A DESPERATE MACHO!
So beat her up with your new bulging muscles in a fit of steroid-induced rage!
whatevs, i like a man with a bit of chub, its cute!
Don't be discouraged, that sounds like something my friend emmy would do, abs or not.
you spent only 20 minutes each day trying to work your abs? first you have to get rid of all the fat that your abs are hiding under by doing cardio. then you have to do ab workouts to make your abs stronger, etc.
which, we all know, is normal english :D
spread the word. push for the elimination of weird american spelling!
but seriously, what's wrong with keeping the U in coloUr?
ydi, you're supposed to give your muscles time to rest, rest time is equally important as work out time, try rotating one day work out one day dont' and you'll have far better results
1000 minutes per day...is fucking insane .. i probably do 30 minutes a day and in a month i have a 6 pack...pretty simple
situps and crunches are 'toning' excercises, you can do these every day with no issues. taking a day off here and there is cool and WILL help rebuild, but you dont need to take more than 1 day off a week.
this is different from say benching, where you're really tearing your muscles and really do need time to rebuild them between workouts.
and yes, if you're fat (no offense), no amount of crunches and situps is gonna give you a sixer.
