(0)my friend named nick is gay, too. it's ok:)
(+2)At least you know your parents aren't bigots... is that any consolation? :)
#2 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:21am by yay!
(-1)This Is Awesome. I Truly Think This Happened To This Kid. His Screename Is Nick So I Find This Believable. It's Funny For Sure. I'm Gay, Wanna Trade Parents?
(+1)a) your sense of funny is apalling.
b) this is possibly the most aggravating comment I've ever read. Why Don't You Try Handing In A College Paper Written Like This????
(-1)why don't you shut the bloody hell up and let people type how they please?
(0)I don't believe this story. It's BS.
#94 - On 06/17/2010 at 8:58pm by RileyFerrari
HAHAHAHA. Well, for what it's worth, your parents aren't bigots. What made them think that you were gay?
#4 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:29am by satan
(+1)Even if you were gay
They went a little overboard, no?
#5 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:31am by last
Well, on the bright side, if you DID turn gay, coming out of the closet won't be hard.
#6 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:31am by cyper_sonic
(-1)Great story, but I don't see the FML in this.
(+1)You don't see it? His parents think he's gay and pretty much broadcast that out to anyone within eyeshot of their house. But he's not gay. And now anyone of the neighbors who know him will quite possibly think he's gay. But he's not. If you still don't get it, picture yourself in his position. Unless you actually ARE gay, then this won't work.
(+2)that would be a good prank to pull on someone.
(+1)Maybe they think you are acting/dressing like a gay person? Cool parents though.
#9 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:52am by Miru
i don't think this is fml... it's great that your parents accept you! many others would be glad to have your parents.
#10 - On 02/23/2009 at 3:16am by yah
That sounds like it would be awkward as hell even if you were gay.
@#7: It's awkward. Fuck awkwardness.

(+1)You should return the favour to whoever told them you were gay.
(+1)That's a brilliant prank. Thanks for the idea, or rather, thank your parents! Hahahaha
this is awesome. i agree that atleast you have very accepting parents. we could trade. my mom and dad act like the fact that i'm bisexual is all some ridiculous phase and are determined to ignore it. and to every that says how is this fml? if you're a straight guy...and you come home to see your name plastered up saying you're gay, then chances are alot of people in your town now think you're gay. and especially for guys, there's unfortunately a stigma that comes with that. most straight guys i know do not want anyone to think they are gay.
#15 - On 02/23/2009 at 5:04am by meggo
(+1)Yeah, this ranks pretty highly amongst posts that make me wish there was an "oh FFS, why do you think this is a FML moment?" button.
hahahahahahahaha
gosh i almost fell off my chair laughing
#17 - On 02/23/2009 at 7:01am by cagedblue
im sure you deserved it
#18 - On 02/23/2009 at 8:32am by flow
(+2)It's nice they care! Probably should have asked you first though, heh.
(+2)Haha, that's actually really funny and sweet. A little FML if they're THAT SURE you're gay, but good to know they love you! Maybe one of your friends told them that to fuck with you? Or maybe they were trying to do so?
(+2)Though, I will say this: moms are usually REALLY GOOD at figuring out this sort of thing with their own sons. So uh, I'm just saying, if she's this convinced, you're probably at least a little bit bi/curious.
probably a prank mate ^^

(+1)April Fools!
What? February?
#23 - On 02/23/2009 at 11:08am by Dave
(+1)#8 - I agree!! That would be awesome!
But seriously, why did your parents think you're gay at all?
(0)lol #5
I know you feel offended, but at least your parents are awesome. When I didn't date in college my dad used to ask my siblings if I liked boys. Except if I was a lesbian, my parents certainly wouldn't have put up a banner like that.
#26 - On 02/23/2009 at 11:49am by relax
Your parents get a gold star, regardless of the mistake.

I am gay, and i'd be horrified if that happened to me.
#30 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:00pm by lechatdewtf
ahahaha. it might be embarassing for you right now,
but it'd be worse if the acceptance wasn't there
and you actually were gay.
#31 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:07pm by cautionbby
How can people say they don't see the FML...this person is straight yet everyone thinks he's gay...everyone in his parents neighborhood now think he's gay.
#32 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:11pm by lulz
(0)if i was a guy i would definately be gay.
@30, yeah me too, would be embarassing as hell.
#34 - On 02/23/2009 at 2:49pm by jonny_toilet_paper_1_2_3_d
(+1)Well maybe you should hide them pictures of naked men a bit better next time.
lmao #28
#36 - On 02/23/2009 at 3:20pm by taby
ok if they were just trying to be funny that's awsome! if not then hey, ask them where the hell they came up with that idea!
#37 - On 02/23/2009 at 4:57pm by trust me I know what I\\\\
weird, why do people always like to make assumptions about everyone else?
at least your parents aren't ignorant assholes, but that is way over the top anyway.

i want to know what happened after
why did they think you were gay
#41 - On 02/23/2009 at 7:54pm by el chavo
Maybe they confused your metrosexuality with gayness? Either that or they don't have reason to believe you're getting laid. My ex-bf's dad caught me giving him a blowjob and was like "Way to go son!" Maybe this is all you need to happen.
#42 - On 02/23/2009 at 8:40pm by Kalixa
(+1)Hahahaha, this made my day. Thank you.
#43 - On 02/23/2009 at 8:56pm by L
(0)Wow, that's pretty awesome of them. I don't get why this is FML, but I wish I had your parents.

#45 - On 02/23/2009 at 10:41pm by jaimee
i love the "We accept you" part of this.
#46 - On 02/23/2009 at 11:58pm by waddup
too bad your parents are AWESOME. Do you have any idea how lucky you are to have parents who will love you no matter what?
#47 - On 02/24/2009 at 12:12am by BP
At least they are accepting of your teenage emo soon to be out self...

Stop complaining. It's embarrassing, sure but you have parents who not only love and accept you for who you are but also have the sense to suspect something is up. They probably thought you were afraid to come out to them and wanted to make it easier.
#50 - On 02/24/2009 at 8:19am by Joe
I know you're actually gay, Nick. Stop lying to the world!
#51 - On 02/24/2009 at 6:36pm by Yearight
To everyone who doesn't "Get it", it's a FML because his parents thought he was gay when he wasn't? I think that's pretty obvious... yeah, he has cool parents, but it's still rather humiliating for someone to think you're gay if you aren't.
#52 - On 02/24/2009 at 7:42pm by beck
(0)At least they support you..

(+1)nick! you are set for life!!! have as many girls over as you want and your parents wont expect a thing. you are lucky my friend.
(+1)Ouch, way to be outed for the whole neighborhood. You oughta move, you're fucked with them girls.
Thats hilarious. Cool parents too
#58 - On 03/01/2009 at 11:52am by rizlarizla
(0)literally my favorite FML
(+1)Your parents are weird... Pretty cool for being so accepting.. but a little weird (whose aren't though)
(+1)It's good that they aren't bigots, but that was a very insensitive thing for them to do. They falsely outed you in front of the whole neighborhood, without even talking to you
(0)I laughed SO much.
Oh man, that's fucked
(+1)That's really messed up; your parents are clueless. On a related note, what the hell are all these people talking about? Just when did being gay become a good thing? It's hardly heroic.
(+1)HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
(0)oh dear god. that made me laugh. at least your parents are accepting of you.
(-1)thats great, why is that bad at all?
at least your parents accept you...thats not fml..at all
(0)His parents accept him as something that he's not! As much as gay people are accepted by society nowadays, I guarantee you that most straight people wouldn't want to be falsely labeled as gay, especially in such a public way. My friend told a few people that I was gay (which I'm not), and it was quite annoying having to correct their misconceptions and endure the awkward conversations.
It would have been a great thing (a little ostentatious perhaps) if the OP was gay, because it shows that his parents care, but seeing as he is not gay, it was humiliating, and clearing the issue up with all of the neighbours will be mighty awkward (especially if he has conservative neighbours)
(-1)#6, you can't TURN gay, you are born that way. also i think this guy really is gay and doesn't want anyone to know.
(0)I realize that this must have been really embarrassing for you, but all I can think is how much I wish my parents were half as okay with it as yours are.
#68 - On 03/16/2009 at 8:52pm by CTM
(0)Wish my parents were like that
(0)I agree with #21, if your mom is convinced, there must be something to it.
(0)Then why did they do it? I'm confused.
(0)If I were you I'd make a sex tape and send it to everyone you know as soon as possible, that'll help counteract the whole everyone thinks you're gay thing.
Oh, also, make sure you're having sex with a girl in the tape, should go without saying but you know how it is with some people..
(0)my parents are so tolerant it almost feels like they're trying to convince me im gay
(0)At least you now have options, if you like that sort of thing.
I agree with #2 wanna trade parents? Lol
#75 - On 06/02/2009 at 10:48pm by
(0)Haha
(0)If you're not gay, maybe you should consider it. I mean, at least your fam made a huge deal about the "Acceptance" part. My mom's a huge homophobe and I'm bisexual. There's no way I'm having THAT conversation.
(0)FYL. Why would they think you're gay though. And this is an fml because he claimed he's not gay so don't u think it's a little insulting for someone to do something like that when it not true? It would be nice if it was true but it not.
#78 - On 06/16/2009 at 2:39pm by hcolovex0x
Awwh you parents sound like they really love you :) I agree with #75 & #2
#80 - On 07/23/2009 at 8:49pm by DomDiddyDom
(0)God forbid a straight man experience some homosexual stigma firsthand. Seriously, a little perspective, although perhaps uncomfortable, is a great gift.
By the way, awesome parents OP. A little dramatic, yes, but awesome all the same.
(0)That sucks, man. You're parents are morons.
(0)Shit, "your". Irony much?
(0)Have you ever brought a girl home? Maybe you look like you're gay... That still sucks though
(0)This was posted on my birthday O:
(0)Well... at least you know if you do decide to be gay, they'd accept you for it.
(0)And how, exactly, do you decide to be gay?
(0)omg i would kill my parents! even if i was gay i would still tell them off cuz that is going waaaayyyy overboard.
