Ow that hurts. Maybe she's sending you a signal. First
(+7)I bet you cry "First!" when you're having sex, too...
(-1)hahaha
good one!
xD
(0)He can't proclaim 'first' during sex...
He's done both hands many, many times.
(+3)Who the hell came up with Trogans for the condom. The Trojans let the horse in and the thing that wasn't supposed to get in got in.
(0)The horse was needed because of Troy's insurmountable wall.
(0)jjk
(0)dude this has been submitted before and it was like 2 months ago
op if ur gonna copy someone try one that's little older fyl indeed
(0)act like you are coming on to her
(+1)After the operation he is her son. Maybe she is trying to tell you what he didnt
(+1)After that "Ben" FML, you really have to wonder... >.>
(+4)Well known lesbian symbol ?
I dont know any lesbian symbols ...
I believe it's the one of the interlocked female symbols, which you can see by simply searching "lesbian symbol" on Google images.
#6 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:17pm by Genephix
(-2)When you say interlocked, are you talking about the scissor? MMM scissoring
(0)Scissor me crazy!!
(0)Pink triangle.
(0)It's two female symbols (O+) interlocked.
(0)Oh, how I love having these symbols available on hand. ;D
♀
Too bad there isn't a lesbian one... Yet.
In case anyone ever wants it, here's the male one as well.
♂
(+3)Scissor me timbers!
(0)OP should have been more specific.
But I don't think it's this, because it would be too obvious.
(0)LESBIAN SYMBOL:
http://rlv.zcache.com/pink_triangle_tshirt-p235181698353325621qmkd_400.jpg
(0)Scissor like its 1999.
(+2)I hope you know her "son" only LOOKS like a guy
(0)Yes!! This ^^
(0)Hey, dont get offended! its only a rainbow!
Or maybe her "son" hasnt told you yet he is a girl :)
#7 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:18pm by Oajng
(+7)She was probably telling you that she wants you.
She wants you bad.
FYL.
(0)^This.
(0)Yeah. This.
(0)haha and I love the propic
(0)That may be, but it still is a little insulting.
(+3)Thinking she had no idea what the symbol was and just thought it was pretty or interesting.
(0)Nautical Star?
(0)aaaand he strikes again.
(0)rofl good one plexico
(0)I would think you were gay for your "Apple logo" too, rainbow striped or not. ;)
(0)maybe she knew the story behind the logo....
(0)Yeah, you're right. More of a conquest that way. :)
You and your damn Macs. Ugh.
(+1)how would an apple logo make you gay?
(0)It's a joke, CL41RE. Oh, I'm so sorry I have a running joke/conversation with another user!
I guess I'll let you into the loop. I was jokingly disagreeing with him for the sake of argument and fun. I was putting down all Apple products just to disagree.
There.
(0)Seriously, 40? It's a joke, YOU must have a really low self esteem if subtext's comment put you down.
and I'm glad I clicked "reply to #40" and FML put my reply on another comment.
(+1)She's trying to suggest a threesome. Get with it. Wincest.
Whoops, I misread this as "the pedant". Lol.
(+2)I'm not sure you know what the word 'pedant' means.
(0)I'd give her the benefit of the doubt that she doesn't have a clue. I can't tell you how many times I've had to explain things like that to my mother...and no, she's not elderly and senile. FYL anyway. Hope you find a way to handle the situation with grace and dignity.
(-1)Perhaps she's just a parent who isn't aware of all the latest politically correct BS. (there's no such thing as a "well-known lesbian symbol" for most of the world)
You received a gift. Stop whining.
(0)What 'well known lesbian symbol'?
#20 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:29pm by MiniatureMayhem
(0)http://www.glyni.org.uk/assets/images/being_gay_grphx/sym_les.gif
There ya go.
(0)You know, I have never actually seen this particular symbol used myself. However, being a reasonably intelligent person (according to my own very low standards that is) I believe I could have taken a WAG that this was in fact, oh, something to do with females and togetherness... Not just a new age symbol for best friends (female of course).
The male "best friends" version could have the -> through the 0 in the middle, but again, that just means friends too.
(+1)"The male "best friends" version could have the -> through the 0 in the middle, but again, that just means friends too."
Wow, those must be REALLY good friends.
(0)I'm going to assume that she means the pink triangle, not the two interlocked female signs... I mean, you'd have to be a complete moron not to know what the latter meant. The first, however, could easily be mistook as having nothing to do with lesbianism.
(0)Why would you wear a pink triangle in your wedding?
#99 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:23am by sika
(+1)I suppose if it was a triangle shaped precious stone, such as a pink ruby, unmistakably the symbol but still some sort of attractive piece of jewelry, the mother-in-law might think it looks nice. /shrug
(0)Wishful thinking from the mother.
(0)there is a symbol for lesbianism? o.o
btw, she probably didn't know that, which maybe why she had it in the first place.
(0)No, I was on while doing a blog entry for history class
(0)She's probably just that clueless. It'll be something you two can laugh about later.
(0)Oh boo hoo get over yourself. It still is insulting and even if she didn't mean it, that's crushing to the ego.
(0)Today, I went on FML and saw my FML wasnt accepted. I was bitter so I slagged off someone elses FMLs. FML.
Get over yourself, sad sad woman.
#24 Fmylife is supposed to be a FUNNY website not something depressing.
#48 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:18pm by Norma_Christ16
(0)Maybe she really didnt know.... did u actually wear it to u wedding? maybe no one will notice.
(0)Easily fixed by wearing it on a long chain.
A very long chain.
Thanks for being clear about being a woman marrying a man.
(0)Well Known Lesbian Symbol????
(0)that's kinda creepy
(0)That sounds like a pass ;) get in there ;)
#32 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:43pm by lahp
(0)I want some peaches now..
(0)mabe u should tell her as nicely as u can. and if she doesnt take the right way, then ur screwed hehe. things can get heated between in-laws
(0)Have you ever considered talking to your soon to be mother in law? I mean that is what families are supposed to do after all. More than likely you'll find she probably didnt know what she was buying you or if she did then you need to talk it out with her.
(0)Perhaps she wants you for herself...
(-1)they made Ellen degenerace into a necklace? tacky!!
(0)A well-known lesbian symbol? I don't think I could identify a lesbian symbol...maybe she doesn't know what it means?
(0)Are you from small-town, inbred hick Southern USA? no wonder.
(0)Why the fuck would not knowing a lesbian symbol make you from a hick town in Southern USA? I'm from Boston and I couldn't name one.
(0)Maybe she didn't know? Old people don't always know about things like that.
(0)I'm sick and tired of these crappy gift fmls. People, crappy gifts happen, get over it.
(0)Well at least shes not phobic riiiight???!!!
Maybe shes(mother in law) bi or less and married for socially safe reasons...
(0)She probably didn't mean anything by it. Maybe she thought it was pretty and you'd like it.
OR, maybe she does think you're a lesbian.
Or as #51 said, she probably does know what it means.
At least it wasn't another toaster, amirite?
#58 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:04pm by Triumvirate
(0)Funny, but not exactly FML. I'm sure you can both have a giggle about it later.
Reminds me of when my aunt bought a hash leaf t-shirt because "it was pretty", without realising what type of plant it was.
(+1)Lol same happened here with my mom. She thought it was a palm tree xD
(0)1) She wants you to experiment with her son. (Maybe he gave it to her to give to you?)
2) She wants you to realize your true orientation in life.
Or maybe she's old and doesn't know what the symbol is. I say wear it proudly in a low-cut revealing sheer silk lingerie top.. At your wedding.
There's a symbol for lesbianism? Learn something new every day! Did she know that's what it was?
#67 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:58pm by charvisioku
(0)Does OP's husband kind of look like a woman?
(0)I searched google images and found a pendant with the lesbian symbok on it its basaically a woman symbol connected with eachother. You guys are so dumb
#70 - On 09/21/2009 at 6:21pm by scateice
(0)Not everybody knows about those 'symbols', take it from me. If this is a genuine mistake, it's really rather funny, isn't it?
Also, one thing I learned on my wedding day: My mother told me, 'Never, EVER, fight with your in-laws, no matter what'.
Hold your tongue, hold your temper; you be the good one (and your husband will love you for it).
(0)...Well known lesbian symbol? I didn't know they got their own symbol.
(0)What about the fact that the symbol looks like a key, so it looks like two keys interlocked ... And therefore could symbolize the "key to your heart" ... two of them meaning one for each.
(+1)Maybe your future mother-in-law is put off by your strange aversion to hyphens. The poor woman can't stand to think of her son's long, hyphenless marriage.
(0)somebody has big hopes for ur marrige
(0)at least she isnt being two-faced. i HATE pople like that. but mabey she
doesnt know its a leabian symbol. heck i didnt even know leasbians had their own symbol
and the average marriges ar at like age 26 so his mom is mabey like 50ish and my mom doesny know
anything street smart really, so mabey she had no idea:] sorry i tend to ramble:]
(0)I wonder if she realized it
(0)What's the problem here? You explain it and don't wear it. I don't see the issue. Grow up.
#84 - On 09/21/2009 at 9:24pm by Me27
(0)ummm maybe she really didn't know what it meant?
give her a freaking break, and stop whining.
do us all a favor. really.
(0)Maybe she really doesn't know. I knew a woman who got a HUGE tatoo of a fairy on her back and didn't know it was the lesbian fairy until her gay sister told her...
#86 - On 09/21/2009 at 9:44pm by missbrunettgirl
(0)The necklace is probably her way of saying she wants to have sex with you.
(0)I guess she never quite accepted that she had a son instead of a daughter...
I bet wearing girls' clothing got old for him.
(0)She probably thought it looked nice and didn't know what it meant.
You say it was a well-known lesbian symbol, but there's a lot of people who really don't know anything about the gay communities.
(-1) Do gays have their own symbol, too? What about straight people? Do I get a symbol, too? I want my symbol to be a smiley face with a butterfly resting on a rainbow reflected on the pupils of the smiley face. Somebody better make it happen, I don't have all day!
#91 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:48pm by iFruit
(0)Dude. You post way too much. Put it all in 1 post.
And the symbols used by homosexuals are, more often than not, symbols used for homoesxual-based internment camps in Nazi, Germany. It's a sort of re-claiming of the bad to make it good. Kind of how blacks have reclaimed "the n-word".
Straight people don't need a symbol. People just assume you're straight. But the rainbow, butterfly, skittles, happy-face, pcp trip sounds fun, anyway.
Also... iFruit? Really? Weird name.
(0) And pieofchrist, maybe if you knew how to spell degeneres you would also know that your joke was tacky.
#92 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:51pm by iFruit
(0) I'm scared to look up the lesbian symbol because this is a shared computer. I don't want people thinking I'm lesbian :$
#93 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:55pm by iFruit
(0)You might have thought of that before you chose a nick like iFruit.
(0)How would you know it was a lesbian symbol if you're not a lesbian? BUSTED!
...kidding. That's a either a clear message or a misunderstanding.
(0)Uhm... maybe she's not terribly into the idea of you marrying her son. You know... she might be hinting.
Though, on the other hand, she could be an absolute dunce concerning that kind of thing, like my own mother.
#95 - On 09/22/2009 at 12:17am by Kofu
(0)Eh to an older woman who grew up in a time when homosexuality wasn't as accepted it may look like two intertwined wedding bands and crosses. I would try to talk to her about it, or maybe ask your fiance how to best handle it without hurting her feelings. You could even wear a necklace that maybe has been in your family and say it's tradition. I wouldn't read into it that much though.
(0) You have a point denzelephant. No excuses for that one, do you know how i can change it?
#101 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:55am by iFruit
(0)Maybe she doesn't know. You might think it's a "well known symbol", but lot of people just don't know. Me for example. :) I have no idea what lesbian / homosexual symbol looks like. I don't care really.
(0)A 'well known symbol'? WTF is it, a pair of boobs?
(+1)Well, if the "son" was originally a daughter before a sex change, then technically you are gay. lol.
(0)No. You're dumb.
(0)Your soon to be mother in law is old of course, and lacks any knowledge of the modern culture.
(0)I'd say she didn't know, or she's giving you a hint.
Either way, marry him.
(0)Send her somthing equally as bad :D
#113 - On 09/24/2009 at 8:35pm by AshleysWorld
(0)You need to ask your fiancee about this... if it turns out to be nothing, she probably just didn't know.
(+1)I'm guessing it's the two interlocked female symbols, like the one somebody linked at http://www.glyni.org.uk/assets/images/being_gay_grphx/sym_les.gif (♀♀). I think an older person unfamiliar with the ♀ and ♂ symbols could legitimately think that ♀♀ looks like two people side-by-side, ready to spend their lives together, and thus perfect for a wedding.
(0)Burn a bra at the afterparty. Make sure it's one of hers.
(0)Look right at that bitch, stick up your middle finger, and scream " FUCK YOU"
(0) haha #68 that's so true!!!
(0)Haha Good One
