Man or woman?

Today, I got a client who ordered ice cream. She seemed really nice and I thought maybe she was into me. When I asked if she wanted peanuts for an additional 0.50 cents, she said no. Trying to be nice, I added them anyway free of charge. I later had to call the ambulance. She was allergic. FML

I concur, else shit like this can happen.

So remember: if someone says 'no', they mean NO. You bloodthirsty monster.

#28 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:39am by Arcterion

I do agree that the OP was being nice, #1, but he really shouldn't have given her the peanuts. Especially since a lot of people do happen to be allergic to them, so YDI, OP, for not thinking about that.

And instead of adding a free topping, OP, why not give her a discount or let her have it on the house since you wanted to be nice? You could even use that as a way to break the ice

#43 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:01am by gigi37

...i assume you mean he should pay for it for her right? or are you unfamiliar with how the business world works...

@OP i bet youre the asshole who works at subway and keeps adding jalapenos to my fucking sub. "sure he said no, but clearly he wants them and just cant afford to...not pay extra for them. ill put em on anyway."

#93 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:09pm by organisedchaos

Yeah Jesus, the whole point of asking is to know weather they want them. Peanuts are the most common allergy of all time, moreso than poison ivy. THINK.

#95 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:16pm by White667

YDI for offering her anything at half a penny.

#109 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:53pm by BeeSkwaird

It's called 'customer' where you work, not 'client'.

#115 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:10pm by iBimmer

my thoughts exactly #109 and #115!

So true beeskwaird

#139 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:18pm by abbymybowl

LOL. I HATE when people do that, or when they say shit like $7 dollars.

#156 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:37pm by kaitlynadele

You're an idiot. Even if she hadn't been allergic, lots of people don't even like nuts. When someone says no and you do it anyway, the most probable reaction is her being pissed at you.

#157 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:40pm by kaitlynadele

It should be FHL, - I went to buy icecream, I said no peanuts and the stupid clerk tried to kill me by giving me peanuts anyway

#166 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:10pm by time4coffee

FYL, but ydi.
how would she not see the nuts anyway?

#177 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:52pm by godsrightnutsack

Thats a ydi, not an flm! She said she didnt want peanuts, so why did you give them to her?! she could have had reasons, one being that she was allirgic! (i know i spelled it wrong, sorry, I cant spell to save me life! ARRGGG, IM A PIRATE! but op, ur a dumbass

#184 - On 09/21/2009 at 6:20pm by A1L12E4X26

YDI, if someone says 'no' it's almost always for a reason. by the way, did you hide the peanuts or something? how did she not see them?

#206 - On 09/21/2009 at 9:37pm by fatehatesme09

lolol 119

#208 - On 09/21/2009 at 9:43pm by scottvodka

"I concur", what an archaic thing to say.

#215 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:05pm by daiviko

Why the hell did you ask her if you weren't gonna listen anyways??

what about bees

#237 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:41am by mnkyc_mnkydo

Exactly what i was think #177.. Thats is kinda fishy, peanuts are pretty easy to spot on ice cream or anything for that matter.

#17 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:26am by greenltrn2003

It was a dumb move on his part...but how did she not see the peanuts on her ice cream...?

#246 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:28pm by EasilyUnamused

why would she eat them if she was allergic? I need to stop wasting my time on this site

#3 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:10am by gxjkb

Probably because she didn't notice them. You'd be surprised how often things like this happen.
Anyway YDI for not listening to her.

#10 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:16am by HarlequinHatter

You would have KILLED my girlfriend you wanker! Get it sorted out.

#101 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:29pm by Microbiologist

#6 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:14am by wormshero

Peanuts are overated, and the fantards like him are the worst, always trying to force it onto other people.

#38 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:55am by fmlyels

Hmm, but there is that "bad boy" aspect mentioned in the other FML. Maybe, "You'll take my nuts and you'll like it!" has worked for him before. I think that's kind of hawt.

#44 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:03am by Intoxicunt

Just don't force me to eat anything I'm allergic to. Luckily, I'm not allergic to much of anything. You know what else is HAWT? You talking about awesome stuff (like Latin) to me.

#58 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:29am by Intoxicunt

I'm surprised no one has said "she should sue your ass." I mean I recon 40% of all comments contain "Sue them.".

#68 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:52am by DrunkenValor

Did anyone else notice that he said ".50 cents"?
Because that would be half a cent... I don't know why anyone would turn down half cent peanuts even if they WERE allergic. That's freakin' awesome.

#181 - On 09/21/2009 at 6:08pm by SuperFlyTilliDie

Lmao. I didn't notice it until people on here pointed it out. I would buy them and tell them they should round down. :)

#199 - On 09/21/2009 at 8:22pm by Intoxicunt

what a fucking idiot. ydi big time.

#11 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:16am by nymc

That was a pretty stupid thing to do, even if she wasn't allergic she said she DIDN'T want them.

Probably fake anyway though because she would definitely have seen them before she ate it.

#12 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:16am by eliz3

Not necessarily, they might have been mixed through.

#21 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:29am by patrickhb

you should lose your job. JERK. If someone didn't want them then thats why they say no! Do you not know what the word no means? You could have killed her! I would have sued your ass!

#13 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:18am by dinosgorawrr

i know, right?

i would also have refused anything that cost half a penny... nothing that cheap can ever be beneficial.

#117 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:18pm by repyourcliche

Nut Roasted!

#14 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:18am by mercyFML

if she was allergic, she should have told you. shame on her.

#15 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:24am by snubbed79

So she should explain to every worker at every food place she goes to that she's allergic to peanuts? That'd get old real fast. She shouldn't have to explain why she doesn't want peanuts on her ice cream. If she says she doesn't want them that should be enough to ensure she doesn't have any in her food (I'm assuming here that she wouldn't be ordering something like peanut flavored ice cream or something).

OP is a moron. What the fuck logic is "no means 'yes but I'm too cheap to get them'" especially when it's only 50 cents. I sure as hell wouldn't want you putting peanuts on my ice cream after I said no, and I'm not allergic. That doesn't sound very tasty.

#30 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:43am by ncoppola

you are idiot right? why didnt you listen the first "no"?

#19 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:28am by vicv666

definitely ydi. did you really think, for an average person, she said no just because of that small extra price? you should have imagined she could have had other reasons. you should give your customers what they want.

but then, sucks for you because you meant well.

#20 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:28am by csd

A "client," huh? Are you a lawyer moonlighting at Baskin Robbins?

#22 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:29am by Gesq1

Hehhe.. exactly. No matter how shinny you make that turd... it's still a fucking turd.

#35 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:49am by rukusrazor

Allergic or not, she didn't order peanuts and you just decided to give them to her anyways. YDI

#23 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:30am by _anonymoose_

Peanuts on ice cream? That doesn't sound very good. Sprinkles, sure, but peanuts??

#24 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:30am by zinka

Actually, a lot of people like peanuts on their ice cream. I personally don't, but they like it for the same reason people like french fries with chocolate milkshakes: sugary stuff + salty stuff = tasty goodness.

To the OP, that's what you get for not listening to customers. With so many people being allergic to peanuts, you're an idiot for putting them on there after she said no.

#26 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:34am by PoeticPixie

That's because in the US, nuts is like the second big god.

#49 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:09am by 4ube

Nuts ruin the ice cream.

#29 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:41am by Edenbeam

I'm allergic to peanuts too.....talk about scary!!

#33 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:48am by decoybag

Well, now you know for sure she's definitely not into you.

#34 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:48am by Synchestra

Wow, you're an asshole. I probably would have asked for my money back if you put peanuts on my ice cream.

#36 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:49am by ItecKid

It is your fault, but it's also her fault. How do you not notice nuts sprinkled on your ice cream? Did she just close her eyes and throw it down her throat? You're both idiots, so with that logic maybe you would be good together, ask her out.

#37 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:52am by jdannyl

It could've been one of those places where they mix stuff into your ice cream.

THEREFORE HIDDEN PEANUTS

#51 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:12am by gambol

y would u even asume she likes peanuts?? they're gross

#39 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:58am by kira1kira

ydi. want to impress women? pull your head out of your rectum, stop imagining what they want and start listening to what they say- and give it to them. its really not difficult. hope you get fired, what you did is assault.

#40 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:59am by satanstoystore

you should always ask with something so highly allergenic, hope she was ok

#41 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:00am by AshleyRose784

Wow, what an asshole. Just assume you know better than the customer what they want?

Here's some advice: don't work in any customer-facing situation again, and don't get a girlfriend. If any mildly attractive female triggers a response in which you refuse to respect their wishes, then you need to stay away!

#45 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:03am by therealmike

You should always give the customer what they ask for. What part of "no" didn't you understand? I'm not allergic, but if you'd put peanuts on my ice cream after I told you I didn't want them I'd probably have kicked your ass and/or thrown the ice cream at you, since I don't like peanuts on ice cream.

#46 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:04am by Darrian

I'm glad to know someone reads things like I do. Or hears them as I do.

I'm still the only one who reads/hears tentacles as testicles. D:

#59 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:30am by redbluegreen

Apparently the OP tried to sell them for half a penny (not fifty cents). Weird.

#111 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:02pm by BeeSkwaird

I used to play guitar, and whenever I heard something about the G string... Oh god.

So much fun, honestly.

Same things with violin.

I could/should never be a music teacher.

#179 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:58pm by redbluegreen

Meh, playing guitar is like masturbating anyways.

With most people, it's just them running their hand up and down a piece of hard wood for x amount of time until the end when you have a mess nobody wants to see or clean up. Only few can make an art out of it.

#180 - On 09/21/2009 at 6:00pm by allmidnighteyes

Wow... Just wow. I'm glad I've never come to your stand looking nice, because then I'm scared to think what my order would look like.

#52 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:12am by silverfire891

I used to work at Coldstone, and customers were supposed to inform the employees of a food allergy. Our policy is to tell the customer that we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment, but that we will do our best.

What I don't understand is why she didn't say something about her allergy, especially when the guy asked her if she wanted peanuts. Peanut allergies can be deadly, and there is a risk of contamination if you don't take extra precautions.

However, that doesn't make this her fault. If a customer says they don't want nuts, then they don't want them. You don't give them nuts anyway, moron.

People keep mentioning in the comments that she should have noticed the nuts. Now, if they were sprinkled on top and she missed them, then that is stupidity on her part. But if the nuts were mixed in, they might not be visible at first.

#54 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:20am by breakconformity

Well she could have said she was allergic but you still should have charged her 50 cents

#55 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:23am by KillaKingPerrie

You idiot. She cleary said she didn't want them for a reason. Your lucky, she could have been majorly injured. Next time, give them what they actually want....

#57 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:24am by fmlette

YDI. I hope you got fired. And next time you order ice cream, I hope someone puts something that you don't want or like in it.

#60 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:33am by fishness

Dude, that was just plain stupid.
If she said she didn't want any, did it ever just occur to you she didn't want any peanuts?
maybe if she had said she didnt have enough money left for peanuts er sumn, and you gave them to her, that'd be nice.
But what you did was just presumptuous.

#61 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:34am by Shamous

Now you know the reason food manufacturers place a label saying "Product may contain peanuts" on everything made in a factory that may have had a peanut in it within the last decade. While your gesture was certainly kind, know that kindness must be tempered with wisdom. As the saying goes, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

#62 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:34am by cthulhu1138

i call fake on this one. she said no obviously because she was allergic, but when she saw the peanuts on there, she ate them anyways? no she would have asked for new ice cream.

#63 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:41am by Jordie210

well she said she didn't WANT peanuts so she would probably have just thought it was something else.

#66 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:46am by itscarrie

As others have said, some places mix the nuts into the ice cream so they aren't exactly in your face and you don't end up with a mouth full of nuts.

...

Comment over now.

#113 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:04pm by kimilei

It's also possible she was talking to somebody or was distracted in some other way and wasn't looking directly at her ice cream when she took a bite of it. I don't know about you but personally I don't examine my food to make sure nothing extra was added. I just assume that if I say I don't want it that it won't be on my food.

#165 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:06pm by janise

#74 - On 09/21/2009 at 12:23pm by justanotheruser

It's possible for people not to like peanuts, you know. Even if she wasn't allergic, she probably would've still thought you an idiot for doing it.
YDI for not respecting her wishes.

#75 - On 09/21/2009 at 12:26pm by moleSG

You are a fucking idiot. She could charge you with attempted murder for that.

#76 - On 09/21/2009 at 12:26pm by B00

ydi. first off, peanuts are one of the most common allergies out there, so you shouldnt go adding them onto people's food anyway. but more importantly, the customer told you no. that means no. i hate nuts, and if you asked me if i wanted peanuts on my ice cream and i said no and you put them anyway, id be pissed. you just ruined my entire tasty treat by doing that.

#79 - On 09/21/2009 at 12:36pm by shantoast

2. YDI for working in catering business and not being aware of the most popular allergies people may have.
3. YDI for looking for girlfriend in this way.

i mean it's sweet and all, but next time offer the idea to her instead of just doing it!

#97 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:22pm by gigi2009

First of all, being nice to someone doesn't mean you're into them. I fucking hate when I just try to be a polite and civil human being people think I'm flirting. Way to assume.

Secondly, does "no" mean anything to you? (Although I wonder why she didn't say anything when she saw there were peanuts on her food.)

So ydi

#98 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:23pm by Bullshet

Adding something people don't want isn't being nice. also there is no way you were that stupid, if you were I hope you get fired and hopefully sued.

#99 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:25pm by Subjectzero

That is so awesome that you thought you were going to score with her by giving her free peanuts. Bet you visit her in the hospital to see if she thinks you are her hero for calling the ambulance that saved her life.

I'm sorry to say this but I think that's a stupid way to get a girl.

It would be funny if she sued you.

#228 - On 09/22/2009 at 12:10am by Intoxicunt

You're an idiot. Be nice by upgrading a size, don't add shit that people said they didn't want...I would have been pissed since I hate nuts, you happened to get very very unlucky and give them to someone who is allergic. Use common fucking sense.

#105 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:45pm by Flounder

peanuts are something to be especially concerned about....but seriously is she blind? can she not SEE the peanuts?

#106 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:45pm by canucksrule88

Why did she eat the peanuts if she was allergic?
She could have just thrown them away.

#107 - On 09/21/2009 at 1:45pm by Eve

Man OP, I bet you think rape is alright too because you think when they are saying "no" they really mean "yes", huh?

Honestly, I have a hard time believing this is real not because the girl would probably see the peanuts but because I don't want to believe someone could be so stupid as to post something like this and think people were actually going to sympathize with him.

#110 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:00pm by Jason

In Soviet Russia, no means yes!

#112 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:02pm by Triumvirate

#107 - i dont think she actually knew there were peanuts in the ice cream...

OP - so you added peanuts AFTER she said no?? do you not know what no means??

#114 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:05pm by MLSxxox

Some people don't even have to eat peanuts to have a reaction. Some people are so highly allergic that just being in the same room (or having peanuts in front of them, say in a bowl of ice cream) as peanuts can cause a severe reaction. I've actually worked with a boy where this was the case.

#116 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:10pm by psu5120

Thats nice but a non-sequitur considering and sounds like a bit of an exaggeration 116 due to the chemical nature of peanut concentration in the air would have such a low reactant coefficient ie very low amounts of peanuts would be in the air especially if in the same room; now this can easily be true if the peanuts are in large quantities and the fact that many other complications can transform the case into something much more extreme such as a proclivity to asthma. Simply the case of being in the room with peanuts increases the chance of more direct exposure and is furthered by additional complications which have to do with lung intake but far from a necessity or by itself in an average room unlikely. However your case may be easily be true but does not apply to a significant portion of peanut allergic people as denoted by the word choice some.

#125 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:34pm by somefacts

Nah. He's right. I don't think this girl was that allergic to peanuts because then she probably wouldn't have gone in an ice cream shot, but I worked at a high school for a bit in college and there was a kid there that was so allergic to peanuts that he had to go to the cafeteria early to get his lunch and then eat by himself in a classroom. If you were caught with peanuts on campus, they would take them. They put signs everywhere. I felt bad for the poor kid.
I never understood why he wasn't home schooled though. Anyway, the point is that it can happen, but seriously unlikely in this case.

#173 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:34pm by Loverfli

If she said she wanted them, adding them for no extra charge wouldve been nice. No means no.

#118 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:19pm by kiit

Wow you fuckwad, hope you get fired for that.

#120 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:31pm by drummer_dude

Ok, being nice =/= being into you. Why the fuck do some guys think if a woman is civil to them that means she's into them? If I smile it's because it's the polite thing to do, it does not mean I want to jump a guy's bone. Hell, half the time I want to get out of there ASAP. And know that it's not uncommon for women to be able to sense when a guy thinks that a smile is more than a smile; it's part of our Creep-Detector (TM).

Now, you're a damn idiot for doing that. Peanuts are one of the most common allergies out there, and given you work in the food industry, you should KNOW that. You should also know better than giving a customer something they specifically said no to. No does not mean yes, nor does it mean they can't afford it. No means no. Is it really hard to understand the meaning of a two-letter word?

And even if she wasn't allergic, some people don't like peanuts. If I had said I didn't want peanuts but gotten them anyway, I would have asked for my money back and requested to talk to the manager (because what if I had been allergic to them?). I do NOT like nuts in my ice cream, and find peanuts the most disgusting of "nuts."

And to those saying the woman should have said she was allergic, it could be that her allergy is not triggered by traces of peanut, which would mean that as long as she didn't ingest any nuts she would have been fine. Or it could be the OP works in a place that claims that some of their ice cream is peanut-free. Most people with potentially deadly allergies are pretty good at knowing what they can or can't have. Unless some moron decides that the person saying no to something really means yes, and feeding them the very thing that could kill them.

#121 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:33pm by zarc

Many many women are the EXACT same way.. In fact, there are prabobly more women like this than men.

#234 - On 09/22/2009 at 12:59am by moonlight_daze

YDI for thinking she was into you

#122 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:33pm by sjbartholome

She said she didn't want them. I'm not even allergic but if I said no to that, and found peanuts, I'd be really pissed and make you do it over for free, lol.

#123 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:33pm by lazytown

you win

#126 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:35pm by sjbartholome

your a fucking idiot. if people don't want something don't add it for free. it's not a nice gesture and right now you almost killed somebody. assHOLE

#127 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:38pm by Th217

she said she didnt want peanuts. did it occur to you it wasnt about the price? even if she wasnt allergic she just might not like peanuts. i dont.
im also wondering how she didnt see the peanuts before she ate them tho...

#128 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:40pm by embarrassedsis

What a douche.
A customer at an ice cream stand is NOT a client.
A nice person is NOT 'into' some jerk spooning ice cream.
IF she was even slightly into you, you ruined it by pushing peanuts to increase the price.
You gave her 'free' peanuts, that you stole from the Co.
No peanuts means... NO PEANUTS.
No wonder you're so desperate to impress people. Impress her FAIL Impress me FAIL FML FAIL

#129 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:40pm by kukopia

OP, YDI for a number of reasons.
also
SDI (SHE deserves it fpr being too much of a dumbass to not see goddamn peanuts on her ice cream. It's not as if they're fuckin invisible.

but back to you, OP. You're an idiot. Plain and simple. I hope you got fired for being that incredibly stupid. really, I do. Plus, I mean, Honestly. What were you gonna do? sweep her off her feet?

"so, uh, That topping...Free of chartge."

"Oh, Ok...Thank you."

"Yeah, well, ya'know, .50 cents. I'm sure it'll come out of my tips, but, ah, I do what i can."

"Oh, ok...thanks again."

"So, uh, wanna come back to my house, see if i can make you a banana split?"

"you have a house?"

"well...It's more of a studio apartment. can't live la vida loca, givin away toppings to pretty ladies all the time."

"well...maybe some other time."

"yeah, come back anytime you want, and remember...the toppings are on me, always."

really dude? Is that about the same as it went down in your head? Cause you're fuckin ridiculous if it was even an iota better..

#130 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:41pm by _THE_MASTER_

First off, she's a customer, not a client. Second, you're an idiot. Third, this is a YDI, not an FML. Lastly, don't expect me not to laugh when she sues your you and/or your employer's respective butts off. Either way, you'd best start looking for a new job since you probably won't be there for much longer.

#132 - On 09/21/2009 at 2:45pm by blastvortex

instead of asking and then giving tjem to her anyway you ehoulda saisld "peanuts? on the house" or something cute like "wan peanuts? theyre free for you cause you seem like a sweet person" amd flash her a smile. then if she says no then she means no.

#134 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:00pm by kibbleznbitz0

now, see, because you clearly cannot type for shit, I'm going to go ahead and assume that you meant to say "flash her and smile." which would be totally innappropriate. might work, might get him fired. but since he is more than likely already fired, it's a much better story to tell than, 'today, I almost killed someone, because I'm stupid. FML'

#137 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:05pm by _THE_MASTER_

no means yes.
just kidding!

anyone get that reference?
well anyway, op, you are so fucking stupid. and really, if she wanted the peanuts she could have paid for them. or she would have said. damn i only brought $3. then you can give her the peanuts. but i don't know many people who like peanuts, let alone in their ice cream. that would be gross. next time try to find a date elsewhere, and don't force them to eat gross food. especially peanuts. many people are allergic to peanuts.

#135 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:02pm by mileycyruslvrrrr

Regardless of her allergies, if she didn't ask for peanuts, she didn't want peanuts. You could've offered it on the house like someone else said and it would've showed your sweet side AND not given her shitty customer service.

#136 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:02pm by justjayit

seriously wtf were you thinking.

you're selling ice cream right... and shes nice to you... and you think shes into you? just this is fucked up by itself but then you _ask her_ if she wants peanuts. she says NO to your question. THAT MEANS NO?

#138 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:08pm by TysonFawlay

You deserve it. How is adding peanuts nice?

#140 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:20pm by 541

that was stupid of you but why the fuck would she go ahead and eat the peanuts if she's allergic?
unless you hid them under the ice cream so she couldn't see them, SURPRISE! DEATHLY ALLERGIC REACTION!!!

#141 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:28pm by tequilabird

YDI. NO means NO.

But still, I have to ask, if she's allergic, WHY would she eat them in the first place? She didn't see those giant chunks of peanuts in her ice cream? o_O

#142 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:28pm by xxXChiiXxx

she was not that into you

#143 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:29pm by shamille

you're stupid for doing that but why the fuck would she eat the peanuts if she's allergic? unless you hid them under the ice cream so she couldn't see, SURPRISE! DEATHLY ALLERGIC REACTION!!!

#144 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:30pm by tequilabird

It cracks me up when people assume someone is "into" them just because they are nice. Some people are always polite, it doesn't necessarily mean they are flirting. Secondly, the OP is a moron. Even if the girl HADN'T been allergic, she might have been pissed about having something added to her ice cream that she didn't order.

I was raised to believe that being polite and respectful to people was the right thing to do. Just because someone is "nice" to you does not mean that they are interested in you, OP. Get a clue, and get that ego downsized while you are at it!

#147 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:32pm by KayleeFrye

Well, you suck. Apparently in your world, no means yes.

#148 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:40pm by Broeman

yeah. maybe he takes opposite day seriously? lol. i don't think i ever want to eat wherever he works. :P

#152 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:15pm by aberfrog5

I do understand that you were trying to be nice OP, but still she said no. You could have thrown in a "are you sure?" before your ordered.

#149 - On 09/21/2009 at 3:41pm by lyfesukz

You really should have been more careful. A lot of people are allergic to peanuts nowadays, so I wouldn't go putting them into something without telling the customer- especially if she already said no! If she really was into you, you should have just given her a discount on the thing that she actually wanted.

#150 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:06pm by foilqueen

i know ur trying to be nice. but she said no. u should have let it go.
well now we all no- she is so not into u, lol

#151 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:07pm by jessxoxo28

It's called COMMON COURTESY.
Which, since no one has it anymore, anyone who DOES have it is accused of 'being into' every single person they talk to! Ugh the world is annoying.
So I'm seriously confused here. I don't even understand how this was, in any way, a nice gesture.
You asked her if she wanted peanuts. She said NO.
Was it a: *sigh* no, thank you; I wish I could, but I can't afford them *winkwinknudgenudge*
NO. It was a NO. It doesn't matter if she's allergic or not, your JOB is to give the customers WHAT THEY ASK FOR, not add random toppings because you feel like it.
No words can express how stupid I think you are. If I were your boss, dang you'd be fired!

#153 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:20pm by lologirl419

If she said she didn't want peanuts, she meant she didn't want peanuts.

-_-

#154 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:24pm by carrot89

Soo, what did you add these peanuts too? Because if it was on something like a hot fudge sundae or anything BUT a milkshake, really, then it's kind of her fault for eating it anyway.......

#155 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:26pm by flyingpoopsicles

Dude that's not even funny. My cousin is so allergic to peanuts he can't even have sprinkles because the factory that they are made in has machines that have touched peanut oil. When someone says no it's for a reason. Not smart.

#158 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:43pm by dramatay

YTDI, she said no for a reason.

#159 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:48pm by iFruit

She should have kicked you in the nuts for giving her nuts.

#160 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:51pm by iFruit

You tried to win her over with free peanuts worth 50cents? And when she said no?
Moron. She was being polite, not finding a way to get in your pants. I don't remember being nice to a guy at the counter flirting. Even if she was, you so aren't going to get a date with her for sure.
Clearly, no means no. Hope you got fired and were sued for every penny you had.

#161 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:53pm by Meh546

It was a nice thought, but YDI. I see where you're coming from, but so many people are allergic to peanuts anymore that it wasn't worth it. Better luck next time!

#162 - On 09/21/2009 at 4:56pm by xoxoCheer

You deserve it for unilaterally deciding that the order the customer placed is not what you should deliver.

Think of it as a contract. When a customer places an order and you accept their money, your duty is to provide precisely what was specified in the order. If you are unable or unwilling to do so, then do not accept the money.

On a side note, it also really grinds my gears when fast food people think they're doing you a huge personal favor in remaking something correctly that they've screwed up and you have to bring back. It was "no mayo" when you took the order--why should I be impressed by your "generosity" in making a mayo-free replacement sandwich now?

#164 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:05pm by RequiemCube

Anyone over the age of 17 that works in a fast food restaurant doesn't want to make your sandwich the first time, let alone again. You obviously aren't very nice about it, either.

Mistakes happen when people are expected to make about 60 sandwiches per hour. If the people are willing to quickly correct their simple mistake, then you should at least TRY not to be an unsympathetic jerk about it.

And OP, I hope you'll learn to listen more in the future.

#229 - On 09/22/2009 at 12:26am by WannabeMD

Wow. Excuse you.

If I'm obviously not very nice about it, then you are obviously one of the people who thinks you've changed the whole world for the better when you correct the mistake you shouldn't have made in the first place.

Obviously.

#247 - On 09/22/2009 at 2:47pm by RequiemCube

I guess I could understand that... Except when it is your JOB that PAYS you to do something like make a sandwich correctly, neither the customer nor the manager/boss will give two shits if you "didn't want to make it the first time"

Also, most people are usually, if not nice, then at least polite about having it... But honestly, it's not that hard. If a customer orders some insanely difficult order, then sure, that's understandable, but most of the time it's something simple like "no mustard" or "large coke instead of medium". Stuff that is printed on the receipt that you can read.

Anyway, long-winded rant short, hush. If you don't want to make it a second time? Make sure it's made correctly the first time, or find a new job.

#282 - On 12/18/2009 at 12:00am by Trebie

listen to the damn customers wants. she obviously didnt want the peanuts, not just cuz she wanted to save an extra $.50.

#167 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:10pm by tangerine_12

amazes me how so many people are missing that part in their brain that tells them to think shit through logically...

#168 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:12pm by FlaminYawn

If a farmer has 27 sheep and then all but 9 die, how many are still alive? It's idiots like the OP who answer with "18". It takes half a second to allow your mind to process shit logically, yet people would rather be illogical and look like a dumbass and just deal with the consequences instead...

#169 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:21pm by FlaminYawn

WOOOOOW! U r retarted. Congrats my friend. If she didnt want peanuts, she didnt want the freaking peanuts. And if she was into a dumbass like u b4(doubtfull but...) she most DEFFINATLY isnt now.

#170 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:24pm by VampireKiss1

You know, if you were trying to be nice, you could have been like "Would you like some peanuts? They're usually 50 cents, but I can give them to you on the house." Then she would have said "Oh. I'm allergic to peanuts." Then you ask her if she would like a different complimentary topping. Not that hard, and it's more flirtatious. I bet that you're one of those guys that orders for your date.

#171 - On 09/21/2009 at 5:25pm by Loverfli

Damn, you better have paid for the ambulance and medical bill. I know if it'd been me who had to pay $1000 because the ice cream scooper was socially incompetent .. I'd be pressing charges >:(

I get adding somethign like M&Ms or low or something...

but PEANUTS? HONESTLY?

How much more stupid can you get? That's one of /the/ most common food allergies.

YDI, and I hope she was all right...

#200 - On 09/21/2009 at 8:32pm by LemonFairy

how the hell could she not see the peanuts

#201 - On 09/21/2009 at 8:50pm by wah_face

Ok wait...you called her a client and you work at an ice cream store? You must feel really bad about your job.

#202 - On 09/21/2009 at 9:11pm by GriefBacon

YDI, it would have been one thing if she debated about it then said, nah, I don't want to pay 50 cents extra. But clearly she just said no right away, why would you assume she wanted them? She could have not liked peanuts, even if she wasn't allergic.

And of course as everyone has said peanut allergies are VERY common and very dangerous.

#203 - On 09/21/2009 at 9:14pm by nightswimming

Silly, YDI. Even if she wasn't allergic to peanuts, not everyone LIKES peanuts. I don't!

what kinda fancy McDondalds do you work in? I want to be a client

#213 - On 09/21/2009 at 9:54pm by deadboy73

You should have used your common sense, OP. Firstly, just because a client's being nice doesn't mean she's "into you". Secondly, peanuts are something a lot of people are dangerously allergic to, and if she actually wanted some I'm sure she wouldn't have had a problem paying half a dollar extra anyway. Lastly, unless you work at your own business, you can't give away products just to be nice or break the ice. I know it was just a couple of peanuts, but you still shouldn't do that. YDI.

#214 - On 09/21/2009 at 10:03pm by PhoenixElite

good job for trying to be nice, but if she said no you probably shouldn't have put them on there. =/

#218 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:03pm by ILoveSoda

well, that wasn't the smartest thing in the world. i get you were trying to be nice, but you didn't know that she was just saying no cause of the money. in fact, thats actually one of the less likely reasons. still, sucks that she had to go to the hospital.

#219 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:04pm by kbbe48

She said no for a reason dude.

#220 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:06pm by 2Chances2Fail

She said "no," not "no I don't have the money" or "not today" or anything like that. Why the hell would you assume...?

So you think she said no because of the 50 cents? What a dumbass.

#222 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:25pm by ElNegroHombre

I call this one fake. The lady would have seen the peanuts before eating it

#224 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:48pm by penguinlord

but kid who go to school that can't touch someone that's eaten peanuts shouldn't be in a public school parent with those kinds of children don't get to attached

#225 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:56pm by zack767

dickhead. If someone doesn't want peanuts, don't give them peanuts.
This may surprise you but not everyone likes peanuts.
Assuming this fml is real, I'd be right in saying you're fired now? :)

#226 - On 09/21/2009 at 11:59pm by purple91

I'd be surprised if there isn't charges or a suit. Or at least have to pay for medical expenses.

#230 - On 09/22/2009 at 12:30am by tg20

He'd at the very least get fired.

#240 - On 09/22/2009 at 2:24am by teiso

Haha, I always get asked multiple times "You don't want any cheese?" at the Subway in my college.

There are people who do find it hard to believe....

#261 - On 09/23/2009 at 2:32am by DameGreyWulf

Have you ever heard the saying: "No means no"?

#232 - On 09/22/2009 at 12:48am by YelloAsylum

wow u dumbass. couldnt hav gone through ur head tht she just didnt even like peanuts? i hate peanuts and if someone did tht to me i'd be fuckin pissed talkin to the manager

#233 - On 09/22/2009 at 12:54am by freddy8289

#235 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:11am by joshizzle3

HAHAHA I was thinking the same too XD

#236 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:13am by lisaloise

i believe this transcends YDI and crosses into the realm of YOU ARE FUCKING RETARDED

#238 - On 09/22/2009 at 2:14am by gingermo

You dipshit! Peanut allergies are one of the most common in the world, and can be lethal through so much as mere cross contamination. WHEN A CUSTOMER SAYS 'NO', THEY MEAN 'NO'!! It only takes common sense to figure that out. And since clearly you can't, you're an idiot!

I hope she's suing your pants off right now, cuz damn I would!

#241 - On 09/22/2009 at 7:39am by purplesucker

when you're in the food industry... even is it is ice cream... you never would have thought if they didn't want peanuts it's probably because they're allergic? man you're an idiot!

#243 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:33am by drumbum101

when you're in the food industry... even is it is ice cream... you never would have thought if they didn't want peanuts it's probably because they're allergic? man you're an idiot!

#244 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:36am by drumbum101

Well that was fucking silly wasn't it?

#245 - On 09/22/2009 at 11:22am by Brey1013

There are many other ways to be nice.

I hate when people ask "would you like to add this?" No. I ordered what I want.
First off, maybe she didn't like peanuts. Personally, I highly dislike peanuts. Why would I want them? And in ICE CREAM of all things? Ew. Giving somebody something they didn't ask for isn't nice...unless it's somebody you know really well and you KNOW they want it. Not to say it CAN'T be nice, but...in most instances, that isn't really being nice. That's just not listening to them. And secondly, seeing as it was PEANUTS, and she WAS allergic, that makes this even worse.

Just...don't. Again, there are better ways to be nice. Just listen to people, and give them what they order. Not everybody likes (or can have) what you like.

#248 - On 09/22/2009 at 2:54pm by QueenOfMelodrama

i love when FML OPs are "trying to be...." and FAIL! HAHAHAHA FYL! btw i love peanuts! FHL for being allergic she doesnt know what she is missing!

#249 - On 09/22/2009 at 3:09pm by FuckMyLyphe

You TOTALLY deserve it! No means NO, dumbass.

#250 - On 09/22/2009 at 4:02pm by iPhsyco

Dude... she said no

#251 - On 09/22/2009 at 4:41pm by norski

Either this is a fake or you are totally unaware of life today. Either way I stole it and used it for inspiration for my mini saga english language piece. So thanks!

#252 - On 09/22/2009 at 4:44pm by chisa

No means no, stupid.

#254 - On 09/22/2009 at 5:04pm by Noxic

Wow that was really dumb. I'm allergic to peanuts too. Ha dumbass.

#255 - On 09/22/2009 at 5:10pm by tori_5643

You fail..

#256 - On 09/22/2009 at 5:36pm by sucks_2_be_you

wow this guys such a STUD!!
free peanuts if he wants to bone you!!!
seriously wtf though, i dont like peanuts so if a chick at an ice cream store was 4 some reason into me nd gave me free peanuts even though id said no, i would have asked for a new one, hence making her look very stupid and having her manager pissed at her for 1) having given away peanuts 2) having 2 throw away a ice cream 3) (most important) having pissed of a custemor who probably wont come back again
itd be like giving someone full cafinated coffee instead of decaf to be nice
theres always a reason for someone saying NO and its rarely 50 cents

#257 - On 09/22/2009 at 6:01pm by fukeMyLife

NO means FUCKING NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#258 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:55pm by BluEG0pher

That wasn't very smart of you...
Where you from in Quebec?

#259 - On 09/22/2009 at 9:34pm by ally_anonymous

With so many people with peanut allergies nowadays, you should have known better.
YDI and I hope you get fired for not using your brain.

#260 - On 09/23/2009 at 2:32am by HeroicDude

I hope you won't do that next time!

#262 - On 09/23/2009 at 3:51am by greg2001

How did she not realize that there were peanuts in her ice cream...?

#263 - On 09/23/2009 at 2:37pm by Camellia

why would you put them on anyway? and why wouls she eat it if she saw the peanuts in it? or saw you putting them in it?

"would you like peanuts?"
"no"
"ok" man puts peanuts in ice cream.............

#264 - On 09/23/2009 at 3:15pm by bobbysnickers

She didn't see the nuts on top of her ice cream?

#265 - On 09/23/2009 at 3:58pm by MissWillyB

Who the fuck has peanuts with ice cream? How did she not see them? Why would you do something so stupid? I can understand like a flake or a waffle cone for free, but peanuts is stupid since a lot of people don't even like them, and a large number are allergic. And you also suck at flirting, you'd have more interaction if you asked her if she wanted them for free anyway, which would make you seem kind, just putting them on makes you look like a dick who doesn't listen.

#266 - On 09/23/2009 at 6:44pm by TD66

why is everyone on peanuts nuts? i for one loves peanuts! they are delicious and even if i was allergic i would still eat them even to my death! @ least i'd die happy! and if i were a girl i would totally love some cute guy putting peanuts on my ice-cream for free even tho i said "no" because to some girls "no" means "yes yes...yes!" but im not a girl & im starting to sound gay so let me stop -_-

#270 - On 09/25/2009 at 2:12pm by FuckMyLyphe

this would be why you are single. and working in an ice cream shop.

#267 - On 09/23/2009 at 8:23pm by elizabethxx

if she said she didntwant peanuts then why would you give her peanuts??? YDI

#268 - On 09/23/2009 at 8:43pm by ohsosweet

Reminds me of the time I was served a macadamia nut cookie.
At a hospital.
With no label.

#271 - On 09/25/2009 at 8:51pm by ReverseTrap

if this is real, you are dumb and you deserve to feel guilty and stupid. BUT, i have a hard time believing it is real since anyone who is allergic would have SEEN the peanuts on the ice cream and not eaten it.

#272 - On 09/25/2009 at 10:31pm by AliciaS

now i think this guy is a dipshit for doing something after she said no, but the girl seems to be stupid as well. dont you think she would notice peanuts on her ice cream if she was allergic to them?

#273 - On 09/26/2009 at 2:13am by PeterD

YDI for being an idiot

#274 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:30pm by 12mp04

I hope she sued you, you fucking idiot.

#275 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:58pm by Sum_Dum_Bum

A lot of people are allergic to those.
Or, personally, just really hate them.
Why did you do that?

#277 - On 10/05/2009 at 7:17pm by Ohnothingreally

Y would she eat it if she knew she was allergic and knew they were on there

#278 - On 10/11/2009 at 9:07pm by bosshaug

woow..t'es cave en sacrament

#279 - On 10/13/2009 at 3:22pm by scullion44

YDI for not respecting the customers wishes.

But nobody who is knowingly allergic to peanuts would get ice cream from an establishment that uses them enough to ask each customer.

#280 - On 11/18/2009 at 4:14pm by Mirm83

if they say no then don't add them. there's usually a good reason, such as an allergy.

#281 - On 11/19/2009 at 1:40am by rhenerlau

why would you do that!!! if someone says they don't want peanuts then don't give them peanuts!!! especially with peanuts being one of the most common alergies!!!

#283 - On 12/19/2009 at 5:37am by kimzy96

YDI she said no for a reason and 0.50 cents (I'm pretty sure you mean 50 cents but whatever) is the last possible reason someone would decline em. More probable reasons are she is allergic (turned out she really was :o) or she just doesn't like them simple as that.

#284 - On 12/20/2009 at 1:01pm by Anteezy

What part of no don't you understand? YDI.

#285 - On 12/31/2009 at 3:08am by Pop1520

a lot of people don't like nuts on their ice cream. I'm not allergic, but I would be pissed if my ice cream had nuts on it even after I said no. I would demand a free new one

#286 - On 01/28/2010 at 8:33am by airforce987

fucking bag of douche. peanut allergy is the most common in the whole fucking world. and she said no. of course shes not into you fucktard

#287 - On 01/28/2010 at 3:57pm by emseeaich

that's what you get for being a human person being thing

#289 - On 02/08/2010 at 12:28am by jonnyapples

I am allergic to peanut and if I was that lady, I would have oblige you to eat my epipen after giving me my shot.

#290 - On 02/11/2010 at 7:29pm by lcr90

#291 - On 03/02/2010 at 11:13pm by Sniper3000

#292 - On 03/07/2010 at 3:19pm by Emilyroxx
