It seems to be that if she's been dealing with depression for a long while and he's been with her all that time, then breaking up with her now is a boner move. I'm sure she didn't just recently change her personality, so he's been dealing with it for a while. So he basically broke up with her because of a sudden realization on his part, not a change in behavior on her part.

That sucks, OP. I recently went through the same thing myself, only mine stuck by me and held me up when I couldn't do so on my own. Just know he wasn't the one for you and you'll find someone better =)
