He has a point. I mean, it's not like people can control what they do whilst asleep, so if you didn't want to risk the occaisional elbow then you shouldn't have stayed over.
Not to mention he could have been joking.

He needs an excuse for something that happened by accident when he was asleep? Come off it - yes, getting elbowed in the eye sucks, but it's not like he did it on purpose.
