Today, one year after giving my girlfriend an ultimatum that if she aborted our baby, then I would leave, she had the baby… and then left it with me. Now I'm stuck as a single parent while she is out living the high life, wanting nothing to do with either of us. FML

Expect that to happen more often as women's rights continue to be taken away. As long as she's paying child support, you have no right to complain. If you didn't want to be a parent, you should have gotten a vasectomy; you still had (and have) that option.

As if birth control doesn't exist. There are so many effective methods, but some people just can't be bothered, I guess.

Birth control has a failure rate. I had a kid at 17 due to failed BC. We found at at 15.8 weeks. (There were other factors that explained the missing cycle after I had already had a pregnancy blood test come up negative.) So I assumed this was an accident and he decided he wanted the baby when she clearly did not. He got *exactly* what he asked for.

condoms can break, the pills effectiveness can be reduced by antibiotics, the rings can fall out, iuds can shift out of alignment. no birth control method is 100% besides sterilization or abstinence. Dont assume that just because an unintented pregnancy occurred that it was due to not using birth control. additionally, abusive men like to tamper with birth control as a means of keeping their victim trapped in a relationship.

You’ll be better off in the long run. Just take care of your child and be wary for when she’ll want to “reconnect” later on.

Wow what a dumb thing to say. Not "I love you, we can do this." not "Be strong, we can raise this kid together." Just if you get an abortion I'll leave. Sounds like youu got exactly what you deserved.
