Today, I was at the gym playing basketball. A very attractive girl chose me to be on her team. We were playing well and hitting it off. I had decided to ask for her number after the game, until I smashed the ball in her face, resulting in her having a broken nose. FML

Heck, maybe OP could've offered to drive her to the ER, then made up for the accident later by taking her out on a date or two! But that's just the romantic in me... in reality, I imagine it to be far more likely that he stammered an apology and eventually walked away, simmering with an agonizing blend of shame, remorse, and mortification.
