Today, I told my boyfriend I had to go out and that I'd be back later. He asked where I was going. "To see my other boyfriend," I chuckled, smiling. He took it seriously and wouldn't believe it was just a joke. I'm pretty sure I'm now single. FML

It's all fun and games until somebody doesn't get the joke.

Youre going to have a bad time if your sense of humour is that incompatible with him. It might be for the best.

Your boyfriends sense of humor sucks...

You're too old to be dating a baby anyway.

Just tell him you had a wild threesome, with Art and Ben. (Arthritis and Ben-Gay) he'll get over it

It is all ***** and giggles until someone giggles and *****

Sorry Op, hope you can find someone more suited to you... who can actually take a joke.

Can't take a joke? Don't think you are OP

It's only a joke so he shouldn't of over reacted quite so bad. I'd just ask people not to joke about it..

this is both a fml and a ydi... yes, you're boyfriend sounds a bit dense and overly sensitive. but you really should never joke about that stuff. my ex used to do that, turns out he wasn't joking. he had 3 other women. so you just never know

YDI. This is one of those things you never joke about. It's like cracking a bomb joke in an airport, or a doctor telling you that you have, say, cancer, even though you don't. Even if you're just joking, they take it very seriously. So it's not a case of him "not taking a joke". You'd be furious if your doctor joked with you about something serious.

Yeah except for the fact that it is a relationship and not a professional setting that you pay for.

my fiancé and i make those jokes to each other all the time. we both understand and trust each other to know its just a joke between us. he also was cheated on by an ex of his but he never takes it personally
