Today, I bleached my hair for the new school year. Instead of blonde, it came out orange, making my hair look like a bloated pumpkin. FML

If your hair is dark, yes, it turns orange. You can dye it with a regular blonde now but it's best to use a toner first.

if you had any common sense, you would know what happens when you try to bleach a dark color. Even if you didn't have any common sense, usually on the side of the hair dye box, it has three shades of hair colors and shows you what the end results will look like. Ever spilled clorox bleach on a black shirt? it turns orange, not straight white. To get your hair platinum blonde you have to continuously dye it. i'm not a bitch, I just have a low ignorance tolerance.

YDI. I have bleached my hair several times, and it comes out a red/orange/blond colour. Reason being, that my natural hair colour is a reddish brown colour (I'm a brown hair Ginger hybrid), so when I bleach it, it comes out that red/orange/blond colour. Next time if you want to get rid of the red, leave the bleach in longer.
