Her happy place

By RIP - 26/01/2024 13:00 - United States

Today, my 21-year-old cat, who has learned when I go to bed and waits in my bedroom for me every night, was waiting for me as usual last night. She got on top of me and I fell asleep pretty fast. When I woke up, she was still there, so I decided to wait until she moved. It took me an hour to realize she'd died. FML

Oh my dear.. I know you are sad she left, but at least she left while content with you. Most cats go hide when their time comes. She showed you she trusted you implicitly. that is the most beautiful gift a cat can give you. Cherish your memories of her and when you are ready, let another into your heart and home and build more memories.

She came to you in her final moments, and died comfortably snuggled up to someone she loved dearly. If only we could all die under such favourable conditions. I know that her passing is still sad, and this is not to minimize your grief over it - But by the sounds of it, you gave her the best life, and best end that she could have asked for. May her memory always be cherished, and her time with you spoken of fondly.

She died as she lived. Sorry for your loss.

so so sorry. being with them at end is the best final gift. I know you wish you had been awake to tell her how much you love her at her final moment, but she knew. She was with you, that was her gift to you.

How horrible. I've "found" cats after they died overnight and it's pretty traumatic. But at least her final moments were in a safe and happy place for her and close to the one she loved the most.
