Today, I had no choice but to break up with my fiancee because my son absolutely despised her, no matter what I try to do, made me choose either her or him. I'll always choose him, but… FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I asked my wife for a divorce because her kids hate my son and are horrible to him because they don't like that he has a dad and they don't. She's my soulmate and the love of my life, but I can't do this to him anymore. FML
Today, it's my son's wedding. I really don't want to go because he's marrying his former stepsister, whose father is my ex-husband. We went through an extremely nasty and bitter divorce and I absolutely want nothing to do with him, but I don't have a choice because I have to be there for my son. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. Why? Her six year-old likes me more than her. I hate kids. I stayed with her in spite of her son, because I love her. For some reason she thought I was going to leave her and take her kid with me, so she broke up with me first. FML
Today, my mother found out that my fiancée broke up with her last boyfriend because she didn't want kids and he did. She's now demanding that I either change her mind, or call things off with her. FML
Today, I admitted to my best friend that I was having second thoughts about getting married and was probably going to break up with him. Unfortunately, my fiance's daughter, who I absolutely adore, overheard the conversation and threw a huge screaming tantrum asking why I didn't want to be her mommy anymore. FML
Today, my son broke up with his girlfriend. When I asked why, he said, "Because I found out she's adopted. Ugh. I just can't with that, y'know?" Never before have I ever felt the desire to disown one of my kids. It's not a pleasant feeling. FML
Today, I had to choose between staying with my boyfriend and moving out to a better job. I chose my boyfriend. He promptly left me because I didn't take the job. FML
Today, I told my 21 year-old son he either has to break up with his girlfriend, who fills his head with lies about me, or I'd stop speaking to him. He laughed and said he'd fine with us not speaking ever again. FML
Today, after months of arguing and conflict, I broke up wIth my fiancé. Or at least, I tried to. The wedding's off, but only until he can convince me to want to marry him again. FML
Today, I gave my boyfriend a choice between me and the super creepy, codependent, almost Norman Bates relationship he has with his mother. Guess which he chose. FML

How old is your son? Has he hated every girl you've shown an interest in? Is he pulling a power move? Look at the big picture here. Kids can manipulate. If he's out of the house, he's just being selfish.

OP - Very foolish move. Unless there’s a serious problem with the fiancé, never let your children rule your love life. Years later they will be grown and you will be alone. … Many children feel threatened for affection by a love interest. And no matter how wonderful that fiancé or girlfriend is will create problems. … The best way is to make sure that: (1) Children understand you are in charge at home not them. (2) Dad will always love your children, but you have needs too of a romantic relationship. … My Dad had problems with my sister and his second wife because sis was used to being the “woman of the house”. I had problems with my son and my fiancé because he was prone to always testing the limits.
