Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I heard the ice cream truck. Being the idiot that I am, I ran down the steps and almost immediately fell down them. I needed four stitches. I didn't even get my ice cream. FML
Today, I texted my mom if she could pick me up from the hospital. She replied, "No fatty, walk home." I have a broken foot. FML
Today, I fell down the stairs and landed heavily on my foot. Because I wasn't crying, my mom refused to take me to the hospital. It took me an hour of agony to convince her. It turned out to be broken in three different places. FML
Today, I decided to take my girlfriend out to look at Christmas lights and get hot chocolate. While cleaning my snow-covered truck, I slipped and broke three bones in my ankle, and now need surgery. FML
Today, I was drunk and broke my leg. I called 911, only for the cops to turn up and make me try to walk, with them saying that I was faking my injury. They arrested me for being drunk in public and hours later I finally got to an ER. I had to have surgery on my leg. FML
Today, I broke my leg while trying to show my friend how I broke my other leg. FML
Today, I found out that I not only dislocated two bones in my foot, but also fractured one of those two bones and snapped the other. How did this happen? I tripped over a single stair walking from the bar to the beer garden. I didn't even get to drink anything. FML
Today, I had my first real break from work in ages, so I decided to go hiking. Less than 20 minutes in, I tumbled a couple hundred feet down a steep hill, broke my leg and several toes, and lay there in agony for an eternity before I was finally rescued. FML
Today, I slipped and fell down the stairs, landing hard on my knee. Through my screams of agony, my mom accused me of exaggerating the pain, and said I was just being an attention seeker, before finally taking me to hospital. I was told my leg was broken. She refused to apologize. FML
Today, I was walking to my mailbox when I fell down and couldn't get up. My neighbor walked by with his dog, took one look at me struggling, said, "What is wrong with kids these days, drunk at 9 a.m.?" and continued on. I couldn't get up because I'm still healing from a stress fracture in my hip. FML

Can’t really give a YDI or a FYL when we have no idea whether or not you obeyed traffic laws.

You have not given enough info for anyone to say definitively either FYL or YDI. Were you crossing legally in a pedestrian crosswalk, and the asshat barrelled through without even trying to put on the brakes? If this is what happened, then FYL, and you should sue the bastard. Or did you just step out into the road mid-block and expect that all traffic would come to a halt for you? If this is the case, then Y so very much DI.

All my life I was told to drink milk to make my bones stronger. Now I know it was all a lie. Feel better OP.

Next time, get an unsweet ice tea.

Think of all the chocolate milk you can get with the money you got by suing him.
I can't stand leg puns! 23
Hey Buddy! That really sucks! Believe me, I've been there! And you might not think of it this way now, it probably hurts like ****, but at least the leg is still attached to the rest of you.

Silver linings!

Never trust a car to stop in time to avoid hitting. You'll never come out ahead in said collision. Likewise for simply walking around a stationary vehicle. Good luck, OP!

But how did you not see the car coming? They're pretty large and visible.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that if OP had been crossing the street at a designated crossing area and had checked the traffic before crossing they would have mentioned that as part of the FML. That would have made it a definite FML instead of a YDI. So I assume OP jaywalked without checking the traffic and got hit. That also puts much of the blame on OP in that case.

That was you? Sorry bro -- I was in a hurry for my chocolate shake...

Sounds like you lack the basic adult skill of looking both ways before you cross the street. Maybe don’t be retarded next time?
