What's going on here?
Today, I went through my boyfriend’s phone and saw texts between him and his female friend. I confronted him about it and smashed his phone to pieces. He seems genuinely more upset that he can’t talk to her anymore rather than me being mad at him or his expensive smartphone being broken. FML

Hopefully you're his ex-girlfriend by now. If I were him, you would be.

Even if the texts were inapropriate you shouldn't break his stuff. Judging from your reaction he already is developing feelings for her, no wonder he is upset. Honestly, breaking my phone would be enough ofa red flag for me to break up.

If that's how you reacted, the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence.

wow. First, breaking his phone was not a good move but understandable if you had been with him for a long time (crime of passion) if you haven't been with him long then it was childish and entitled, so a big red flag for him. Second, you now know that if he hasn't left you for her yet he soon will. His feelings are obvious. sorry op

Ah yes, the infamous debate of who's in the wrong - the cheater or the person going through the cheater's phone. I condone neither action... I also don't condone breaking the phone, but I guess that's better than breaking a bone?

You have to come to terms that you can't control other people. if he's being respectful and the messages aren't flirty, then there should be no problem. this is a personal self-esteem issue that's all
