Today, a customer said the pants she was buying rang up more than advertised. I quietly told her plus-sizes were not on sale. The customer yelled in front of a whole line of people, "So I'm fat and can't read! Any other insults you'd like to throw at me?" and stormed out of the store. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I went shopping for a new pair of jeans. I was feeling good about the fact that I was going down a waist size until the cashier decided to discuss with me, three co-workers, and the ten other people in line how she didn't even know jeans came in sizes that big. FML
Today, a heavy set lady came to my boutique asking for our "largest" 28in size jeans. I decided to humor her by giving a 52 mislabeled as a 28. It fit perfectly! She happily bought it and left. Later, her mother, who is a Super Karen and twice her size, came to complain about me to the owner for bodyshaming her daughter. FML
Today, I was ringing up a lady’s items; two shoeboxes. Per policy, I’m supposed to open them. She heavily insisted I didn’t. I ignored her and found other merchandise inside. She then went on a rant on how "people should mind their own fucking business" and stormed out of the store without buying. FML
Today, I thought the cashier said the new blouse I picked out was ugly as she was ringing me up. I'm really self-conscious about my fashion sense, so I snapped and started yelling at her. It wasn't until she was close to tears did I find out she said "lovely" not "ugly". So, that's another store I can't go back to. FML
Today, when I told a gentleman that, no, he couldn't have cash back on his return without a receipt, he started screaming at me that I was calling his mother a liar. He told me to lawyer up and yelled at me for smiling at him. He also screamed at me to go on a diet as he left the store. FML
Today, I was called an 'unhelpful little bitch' by a customer, after I informed her that we couldn't order a pair of shoes she wanted from the company in her size because it's a discontinued model. This little tirade continued for another few minutes, with her insulting me and my intelligence. FML
Today, while at work, a rather large woman came in and ordered a cheeseburger. When asking if she would like to supersize it, she took her purse, smacked me, and told me she wasn't fat, and how rude I was for calling her supersized. I was just doing my job. FML
Today, I was waiting in line while a lady paid for her shopping, when her credit card got declined. She started ranting and insulting everyone and kept insisting: "I'm not poor!" By the time the lady had finally stormed off, I had spittle on my face, and the cashier was almost in tears. FML
Today, my friends and I were shopping for dresses. I asked the lady at the counter for a size 4, she looked at me and mumbled, "Yeah, right…" in front of everyone. FML
Today, a drive-thru customer ordered a deal that includes fries and a drink with the sandwich. When I gave it to her, she screamed at me because she "didn't order fries." When I brought up that the deal includes them, she told me I should have "figured it out," called me a "fugly fat slob," and sped off. FML

Oh customer stupidity. There are some who just see themselves period, and then there are some whose whole lives wrap around their obesity. If it doesn't bother you, fine, great, whatever. If it bothers you, and especially if it makes you act like an asshole, it's your responsibility to do everyone a favor and work off the weight. Sorry OP that you took the brunt of it

Lets be real here, most Americans may be plus size, but it doesn't mean that plus size clothes have to be on sale. It takes more fabric, i.e. more money to make plus size clothes. But to the op who had absolutely nothing to do with what goes on sale, I've worked in sales and it's all in the way you word it. "Sorry the sale for select sizes and styles only."

Customer was an asshole. She was directing her anger at someone that didn't deserve it. But I do thinks it's wrong for a store to put sale only on non-plus size clothes.

Wait, so your store has clothes on sale, but not for plus-size? I've never heard of that before, but that is total bullshit. I don't blame the customer for being pissed. But she should have been pissed about that and said so, not that she was fat and couldn't read. That just doesn't make sense unless a sign is posted somewhere, easily visible, stating that plus-size clothes weren't on sale. That's right up there with plus-size clothes costing more money. Discrimination, pure and simple.

I'm gonna say **** HER life on this one, that must have been embarrassing as hell. It's sad that your store policy doesn't put plus sized items in the sale but it's not your fault. This made me laugh though, thanks for posting it!
