Today, my mother, who has no life of her own, barged into my house and demanded to know why we hadn’t had kids yet after 6 months of marriage. She then hoovered the living room for a while, even though I did it yesterday, and only left after criticising my wife’s makeup and body weight. FML

Your mom does know that a pregnancy usually takes nine months, doesn't she? That said, you need to set some strict boundaries with your mom. Barging in like this and insulting your wife is utterly unacceptable.

Can't believe only one other person has said this, but is it possible that your mom is jut lonely, and doesn't feel comfortable or welcome in your home, so she feels like she has to force her way in? I agree there definitely needs to be boundaries set, but all this "tell her to stay the **** away and call the cops" talk? It's your mother. A little kindness might go a long way.
