Today, my mom told me I was a bad daughter because I didn't get anything for my parents' anniversary. I just sent my brother a check for $400 for my share of their gift. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
How could you?
Today, my mom called me a bastard because I asked for the Target gift card my dad had given to me. FML
Today, I won an award at school for my hard work. Afterwards, my parents told me off. Why? They wanted my brother to get it instead of me. FML
Narcissistic parents FTW
Today, I told my mom I wasn't doing very good mentally and I was looking for some support. She decided to remind me of all of the things I still haven't paid her back for. I'm now an unpaid loan, not her daughter. FML
Today, it's my birthday. My parents, with whom I live, told me that they didn't get me anything, but instead they said they would knock off a bit of the housekeeping I owe them. FML
Priorities
Today, my mother flipped out that I spent $20 on a gift for myself for my birthday. Instead of getting a gift for me, she spent $300 on a new vacuum cleaner, and claims that we didn't have enough left in our budget to spend on me. FML
Today, I realized that not only did my parents not get me anything for Christmas, they also stole the $500 my grandparents gave me to buy a computer. FML
Cash machine
Today, my sister attempted to get me to fund her daughter, my godchild's, birthday party. I told her I would give her 200 (which isn't much). Our mom "intervened" by cussing me out for being a cheap ass piece of shit. I was about to give her $200, which is A LOT in our currency when exchanged. FML
Today, I decided I was going to do something nice for my parents for Christmas. So, I cleaned the entire house top to bottom, baked cookies, and made them both Christmas cards. What did I get in return? They asked me to wrap my four year old sister's presents, and let me know I got nothing. FML
Today, for my birthday, my mom presented me with a $4,000 check to pay for my braces. I've been very self-conscious about my teeth for years. Everyone applauded and told me how happy they were for me. Later, my mom asked me for the check back. Apparently it was just meant to make her look good. FML
Miserable parenting style
Today, my mom was going to take me shopping to buy a gift for my dad’s birthday, but unfortunately, I missed a spot while cleaning the kitchen. Now my mom is “embarrassed to be seen with me in public” and will buy my dad nothing, and tell him it’s because I don’t love him. FML

Wtf. Your brother`s a douche for either keeping the money or not giving you credit as well. And your mom`s a bitch for saying that.

Tell your bro to return the gift, and send you your money back. Go on a minivacation. But buy your mom a present that reminds her she's older now. Just to be evil.

This is probably the best suggestion here. Anyone who complains about not getting an anniversary gift, doesn't deserve one in the first place.

I hope my parents don't expect a lot from me on their 25th this year. I'm going to university and I'm going to be dirt poor in a couple months

No matter what the occasion, gifts are never REQUIRED. I hate people that try to make others feel bad for not getting something for them, especially when you're in the process of doing just that.

Ummmm... Why are you telling us? Why don't you tell her? And if she didn't believe you, so what? Your conscience is clear. That's what matters.

To clarify: #24 was right. My brothers and I are waiting to surprise them, so I didn't want to tell her then. I didn't tell her because I didn't want to ruin the surprise :) The worst part is is can't tell her about being posted here till after she gets the gift! And I DO work for the money :).

Oh WAIT, you didn't give her the gift yet? RETURN IT! Take whatever it is back from where your brother got it and get your money back. Anniversaries should be a celebration between the couple anyway. Make sure you let your mom know that you posted here when the time comes and what an absolute **** everyone here thought she was!

What is this strange thing of children buying really expensive gifts for their parent's anniversary? I've never understood that.

Payback is a bitch. Do the samething another anniversary. And remember, a wise man waits three for revenge!
