Today, my mom asked me, once again, if my girlfriend of almost a year is just a cover up for being gay. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
This is me
Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. My mother turned to me and said, "Wait you're actually gay? I thought you were just saying that to piss off your father." I came out to her when I was 16, and have confided in her about my past relationships. FML
I'm not, but…
Today, my girlfriend's mother insisted she's not homophobic, but however people only 'turn gay' because they were sexually abused, or are 'making it up to get attention'. She informed me I'm the former and my girlfriend is the latter. Uh huh. FML
Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my family for the first time. My mother's immediate reaction was, "We didn't know you were gay!" No mom, she really is a girl. FML
Denial
Today, at 18, I finally told my mom I was gay. She spent the rest of the day bringing up my "future wife" at every possible chance she had. FML
See someone
Today, my mom asked if I was seeing anyone. I launched into a description of my girlfriend, only for her to interrupt, saying that she meant a therapist, and the fact that I'd just made up a relationship was further proof that I needed one. I really do have a girlfriend. FML
Casual
Today, my mother urged me to "get over this lesbian thing and give me some grandkids." In front of my girlfriend of eleven months. FML
Today, I finally thought that my mother was okay with me being a lesbian. Then, over dinner, she turns to me and says, "So, do you still think you like girls, or are you going to start being normal again?" FML
Coming out
Today, I told my mom that I’m a lesbian. She was fine with it, supported me 100%, and it was a huge relief, until she followed up with, “Until you find a husband, then you’ll obviously have to stop all that.” The reason I even told her is because my girlfriend just proposed to me, and we’re engaged. FML
Assumptions…
Today, my sister gently asked me if I was gay. Turns out I've been without a boyfriend for so long that the whole family believes I secretly have a girlfriend. FML
Today, my mom tried to convince my dad that I was a lesbian. Why? Because she was bored. FML

Hasn't she ever seen her o.o

Perhaps she should learn to trust your answer and keep out of your love life.

7 there's a ******* button for that. don't make pointless comments
Ranimal 12
Don't know why he just doesn't prove her wrong and introduce her. Unless some other issues like distance or perhaps she is fake?
Wiz_Of_Oz 17
#28 there is a ******* button for that too.

Who pissed in #28's cornflakes this morning? Harsh.
Dynosaur_dollie 38
it doesn't say she believes the girlfriend to be fake. She believes her son is using this girl to appear heterosexual. She's likely met her before.

#28, shut up with those arrogant, rude and pathetic "There's a button for that" comments.
lysx84 24
Well... is she?

I'm not one to consider calling someone "gay" to be an insult because I'm above that, but in this situation however I feel I would be offended. Tell your mom straight up that you are in fact straight (which is what it sounds like from the tone of your FML), and be firm about it. It's not cool to be labeled as something you're not, no matter what the case.

But, you are not above taking a boob-only picture. What a shame.
Alicestraza 33
I think she's trying to showcase her pretty curls. No need to be so judgemental.

#16 and #21 are the perfect example on a man's perspective on the picture and a woman's perspective

I like women too and I thought it was a boob picture.

I thought it was a boob pic as well.

Hey 16 - it's meant to be a picture of my curls. My shirt is not even low-cut, so buzz off. Thank you 21. :)

68- You have some nice b.- curls! I mean curls! ...
CarrieDiaries 12
Wow... A year and she still hasn't taken the hint that you're not gay?
kievking 14
Your opinion is the one that matters. Also being called gay isn't an insult.
SweetJTBR 22
It isn't an insult, but it's bloody annoying when someone keeps asking if you're something that you've already stated you are /not/ several times. Whenever I talk about my fun gay friends my mom asks if I am gay myself... Again... And again... And again... Even though I've told her that I'm not every single time. :l
Treveyon56 14
I can agree with you it's annoying. From the start of high school my mother keep asking my if I was gay because I didn't have a girlfriend. Eventually when I did get one she asked was I gay and just trying to cover it up. I don't see why parents make this so irritating.
monnanon 14
no it isnt an insult but i refuse to carry an label that doesnt apply to me. i have enough of my own thanks. also is it just me or are there quite a few mums who really want gay sons. i know one in real life and the son is only 6. sad very sad.
monnanon 14
no he hasnt. did you miss the part where i said he was six? he is not particulary boyish but not girly either. the mum is just crazy.
HowieDoIt 21
Maybe she caught you watching glee?
thatnucca 36
I watch glee and I'm ridiculously straight...

No you're in denial.
