Today, my friend invited me to go on vacation with her and friends, saying we would all share a suite. I booked my flight. The trip is almost here and she now tells me there is no room for me and I have to get my own room. This is the second time she has done this. FML

OP here. Just to clarify a little, I have traveled with her multiple times and she has only done this once before. That is why I didn't question anything. Anyway, we have since talked it through and have worked everything out. I am still going and sharing her room.

I thinks this is a sign not to book trips with her anymore.

Sounds like you should end the friendship. Bright side: Once you do, you will have a chance to enjoy a nice vacation with your own room :)

Should've told her "No, I won't be a getting a separate room. We agreed, in advance, that we would all share a suite. If you thought there wasn't going to be enough space for everyone, you should have thought of that before. I'm paying for part of the room, too, so I get to stay there and that is what I'll be doing. If that's a problem for you, perhaps you should look at getting a different room instead, seeing as you caused the problem, not I. This is the second time you've done this to me and I don't appreciate it and I don't deserve to get the short end of the stick. If you still insist on me being in another room, then you can pay for it or you can just reimburse me for what I paid for this trip and I just won't go so you'll have the space." That is, if you are helping to pay for it. If it's a gift, I'd still say something like this and just amend the parts about paying for it. And, if it's a gift, she still offered you space in a suite and it's still her responsibility to find/pay for new accommodations, if there's no space for you in the suite, like she says.

Honey that's not a friend. And I'd she's already done it to you before then you kind deserve it. Well not deserve, IDK, but you should've never trusted her after the first time. Get a new friend hon.

Shouldn't have trusted her on a second trip.
