Today, my doorknob broke. While trying to impress my dad and show that I can fix things for girls, I somehow managed to lock myself in my room, with the doorknob on the other side of the door. When my dad finally heard my screams, he let me out. He had to take the whole door off. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
HELP!
Today, I thought I could try and fix the broken door handle on my bedroom door. After a series of unsuccessful attempts, I got stuck inside my room. The only person who knew? My roommate, who was too busy playing loud video games to help. FML
Drama!
Today, I tried to make a dramatic exit after arguing with my flatmate. I slammed the door, but the handle broke, and I had to ask him for help to fix it. FML
Today, I was locked out of my house. After hours of trying to break the door, I found out I accidentally left a window open. The door, however, still needs to be replaced. FML
Today, my mom was out of the house, so I decided to make her a gift. I went into the garage for supplies and somehow ended up locking myself in for the next 2 hours. Not only that, but I cut my hand with the rusty paperclip I used to try to pick the lock. FML
HELP!
Today, I was fed up with things being taken from my room so I installed a key-locking handle on my door. I installed everything but the door knobs, and because I was worried that I would put the two of them on backwards, I closed the door to check. I'm now locked in my room. FML
Today, I got locked out of my house. After trying unsuccessfully to jimmy the lock, I managed to climb in through the kitchen window. I soon found out I had an effect on the door after all; it won't open at all any more, even with the right key. FML
Public spectacle
Today, I got locked in a restroom because the doorknob jammed. I had to text my coworker to come and rescue me. He brought half the office with him because, “It was too funny not to see.” FML
Locked in
Today, after getting home from the supermarket, I went to unlock the door so my dad could carry the groceries in. No matter how hard or how many different ways I tried, the lock wouldn't shift. My dad eventually grabbed the keys, twisted once, and after the door unlocked, called me an idiot. FML
Let 'em in
Today, I was in my backyard. When I wanted to come back in the house, I tried to open the sliding door. I knew that my brother locked me out so I banged on the door very hard, causing the glass to break. It turns out that the door wasn't locked. FML
Double trouble
Today, I was about to go out and get some groceries, but the moment I slammed the door I realized my keys were still inside. My inner caveman instincts told me to immediately break down the door, so now I have to get a doorknob replacement instead of food. FML

I understand your situation, but if you didn't know how to do it you should've at least looked it up on the Internet or consulted someone besides him

That's sweet that you want to fix things for girls.... Although in this case I suppose you will have to go with the whole "it's the thought that counts"
doodlecloud 27
The 'thought' may not go down well either though...not all girls find guys attempting to fix stuff for them thoughtful or impressive, some just find it patronising. (Personally I think it would depend on the situation and accompanying attitude)

I see it as op is a girl and she is just saying that she can fix things "as a girl". Personally I find it fun to be independent and fix things myself without help
SpamPam 18
Oh yeah that would make a lot more sense concerning the post instead of "for" either that or something else was meant by it.
doodlecloud 27
That would also make sense. Maybe OP should ugrade his/her sentence writing skills...

Yep. You should've stayed in the kitchen. LoL

well, ask him to teach you how to do it right then! it may turn out be a pleasant and bonding experience for both of you.

This. Everybody's gotta start somewhere, and I think he'd respect you more for admitting you need to learn something rather than having to clean up your mess.

I thought that "for a girl" meant that OP is a girl

I'm a bit thrown off as well. -_-
SpamPam 18
Yeah I suppose there could have been a more clear way to communicate that. I'm a little confuse by it, but in the end the same humiliation was placed on OP.

Yea that was my first thought and I'm sticking to it. lots of confusion on this fml

Well it would appear you will have a long life of feeling like shit when she calls your dad or her dad to fix things around the house, or you could manage to make enough money to get a repair man do everything. I couldn't do with all the porns that start with working on the kitchen sink while the husbands at work.
