Today, it's been five days since my roommate last talked to me. Although she's not communicating with me verbally, she's excelling at non-verbal communication: slamming doors and drawers, and watching loud videos, all while I desperately try to study. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my roommate told me that she was studying in the library. Turns out, she didn't feel like going to the library and just spent all afternoon studying in a friend's room because she didn't think I was capable of shutting up for long enough to get any work done. Our other friends agreed. FML
Rampage
Today, my roommate is rampaging in the house at 1:00 a.m. because her stuff was moved out of the pantry for the new person, after being asked several times to move it herself. Apparently, she didn't see the text message heads-up, because she refuses to use her phone as a source of connection. FML
Today, my roommate has gone home for the weekend. She forgot to turn her alarm clock off. Her door is locked. FML
Today, my roommate decided that because she has an oral report due, she's going to scream at the top of her lungs until she loses her voice to get out of it. It's been two hours and she refuses to stop. FML
Pleasant smell
Today, while watching TV in my dorm, I clearly heard my roommate yell to someone proudly, "I've only taken a shower 4 or 5 times since I've been here." He's been my roommate for four months. FML
Patience
Today, I had to study for an important test but I could barely focus because my roommate had his music blasting at full volume. Since we get along well, I decided to put up with it. I just found out he forgot to turn it off and left over 6 hours ago. FML
My FP
Today, it's been a week since the last time I talked to the person I care about the most. We've been fighting for 2 months and he hasn't even opened the last message I sent him. I went completely radio silent as part of a bet, because others are convinced that he'll miss me. I don't think he's noticed. FML
Today, my college roommate tried to kick me out, because what I say makes her uncomfortable. We haven't talked for 3 months. FML
Suspicious activity
Today, it's been two weeks since one of my roommates moved out. Despite me telling the postal service he no longer lives here, they're still knocking on my door almost every day with urgent letters addressed to him. I have no idea where he lives now, and am wondering what the fuck he was up to here. FML
Worst roommate ever
Today I knocked on one of my roommate's door and asked her to stop vacuuming since it's was late. She started to record me and went on a tirade about how none of the girls there respect her. She has previously tried to push two girls down the stairs. Her lease isn't up for 4 more months. FML

I am a little curious as to what happened to cause this behaviour. OP, would you be so kind and enlighten us? PS; earplugs are cheap and effective.

#1 Your advise on having OP to tell her room mate to **** off is bad and can make the situation worse. Besides, I think OP did something to upset her room mate but didn't mention it in this FML. It's really hard to think of a situation where OP's room mate would just suddenly stop talking to her and do all those things without any reason. Your thoughtless comment needs a down vote and this FML needs a follow-up.

Im always scared of posting comments on FML because it seems like all the common sense replies get blasted. I agree with you though, people dont just slam doors and not talk to people for 5 days for no reason.

Ha i did the same thing. I wondered off. :-/

46 & 61. TYPICALLY people don't stop talking to you for no reason, but I had a roommate where I would be forced to stop talking to her for days. I would turn off my phone and/or leave the dorms because she felt it was her duty to point out every part of me that was a flaw or tell me hurtful things "people" said about me. She put me down and claimed to be my friend. I later learned she's a bipolar manipulative sociopath who made up stories and lies to keep me from hanging out with my friends. Eventually I moved out. I honestly felt like I was in a relationship with her as my super controlling abusive boyfriend. Good riddance, my life is so much better. Maybe you should think of moving out OP. It might not be worth your time.

77, but you had a reason. Your roommate was a psycho and being mean and hurtful.

Ask her why she behaves like this. If you already know, initiate a conversation.

I'd say sound war but you're trying to study so trying to talk it out might be better. Good luck op!

Reading out loud would be a great retaliation.

50 shades of grey if it escalates to extreme levels.

OP's roommate doesn't sound like a middle-aged woman having her midlife crisis, so probably not.
ProfessorMctitie 20
I guess i might be a middle age women to then

We don't know the full story. For all we know, OP could have perpetuated this fight.

If you two are old enough to rent a house together, you're old enough to confront each other and stop acting like children. If you did something that really upset them, apologize and work through it. If they're being an ass for no reason, tell them to get their act together or leave if they can't. Whining on FML isn't going to help your friendship or your schooling.
RobinGoodfellow 47
Who says they're renting a house?? For all we know, they share a room together, nothing more. I agree that they need to work through it face-to-face but I should probably take this opportunity to inform you that Fmylife is very literally a website about whining.

Finally, a right-thinking, sensible person. Normally, I hate people like you, but this is such a breath of fresh air I'll excuse it.

#21 so your telling every FML posted is about whining...
