Today, I went to see my grandfather in hospital, to see how well he's recovering from his stroke. He asked who I was. After I told him I'm his grand-daughter, his head almost rolled off his neck in disappointment. FML

At #24. I know my grandfather better than anyone. He remembered me when he saw me and asked if my brother was my husband, I told him he wasn't and he smiled. Then later when I told him I was his grand-daughter, that's when he looked disappointed. I love him more than anything it broke my heart.

Are you seriously so self centered that your entering that as an fml? Get over yourself. He just had a stroke and is most likely extremely confused with what's going on. Just keep visiting, and loving him. Not everything is about you.

Haha don't worry .. I invited my grandfather who i dont really know ..( Coz my father died so i dont talk to that side id the family)to my high school graduation he went then went to my party afterwards then he asked me who's kid I was ... When I told who I was his eyes almost popped outta his head

Haha, just in case any of you were wondering, he remembered me today when I went to the hospital to see him. He did not recall my visit last night though. Which is not a bad thing. He has also improved greatly. He should be home tomorrow. x

That's not a bad thing. Typically, older folks get forgetful when something traumatic happens to them. He was probably hoping you were his wife/mother/girlfriend... And was disappointed because you weren't. Lol... Or you might of reminded him that he's OLD... My gramps was in hospital and I went to see him... He kept calling me 'mother' and saying we were at Wally World (Walmart)... I was hurt that he didn't know me for me, but I learned that his prob was that he knew who I was but every time he'd go to say my name, 'mother' came out... So just don't take offense to it.

I'm in the hospital visiting my great grandfather for have a stroke but he can't remember who I am but at least I don't bitch about it.
