Today, I went to my required district science fair with my project about gliders and was a bit unprepared in terms of personal knowledge on the science behind gliders. I was hoping I would get a judge who didn't know a lot about aerodynamics. One of my judges was a glider pilot. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
You can't explain that
Today, I was doing a science presentation about glucose. There were around 20 judges at the event who could've judged me, but instead I got judged by the only person in the whole entire world who doesn't know what glucose is, and doesn't think it exists. FML
Barbarians
Today, although I received a good grade for my science project, it was disqualified for the science fair that I'd hoped to enter. A beautiful scale model of our solar system was ruined by the Cro-Magnons in one of the other classes; I found pieces of it scattered all over the classroom. The teacher did nothing. FML
Opening old wounds
Today, I was cleaning out the garage and found one of my old science fair projects. It was disqualified for outside help and cheating. I didn't do either. FML
Meritocracy doesn't exist
Today, due to nepotism, I lost to a competitor. They rarely contributed to the competition and were literally distracted all the way through. Their quality was pretty low as well, but they were friends with the judge. FML
Is this a stand up show?
Today, I had a big presentation at work and I was feeling really confident. I'd practiced it over and over and I knew it inside out. But when I got up to speak, I realized I had left my notes at home. I ended up winging it and it was a disaster. FML
Today, while at a big speech and debate tournament, I corrected the judge's use of the word "podium" instead of lectern, because that's what my debate coach had told me was the correct usage. Well, she didn't take it too well and neither did my partner. Or my debate coach. FML
Crashing down
Today, during gymnastics tryouts, I tried one last move to impress the judge, jumped up but landed crotch first on the beam. I fell off, curled up in pain while everyone just stayed frozen, still waiting on the judge's pick. She barely glanced at me then picked the girl next to me, who ran off happy. FML
Today, I failed on a school presentation because I was not prepared. Apparently, the fact that my computer crapped itself and started giving off smoke last period isn't a good reason for not having my presentation prepared. FML
Unfair
Today, I had to do a presentation. No one else in my group showed up, so I had to do it alone. I was given a failing grade for presenting by myself, and therefore not being a "team player". FML
The knack
Today, I had to give a 15-minute presentation for a conference. I hadn't had the time to write out a proper speech so I decided to just wing it. My sponsor liked my presentation so much he wants me to turn it into an article. Now if only I could remember what I said. FML

I hate to be rude but how did you do a science project and still know little on the subject?

YDI why even bother if you were unprepared?

I'm not saying OP cheated but at the same time plagiarism is a thing. Finished project; no knowledge.

If you're good enough you can try to bullshit your way through it. Lol

@2: Yeah, that seems confusing to me too. Isn't that the whole point of those science fair projects?

All of OPs research was about gliding birds into pigs, probably.

Do you not have to study the subject in order to do a project about it?

You must have wanted to jump off a building out of sheer mortification. You would have a great opportunity to study aerodynamics then.

I agree on the YDI but "required" is right in the FML

Yeah it's not like he could have skipped it since it is required

I mean, when I was in elementary and middle school when hey forced you into that crap, most people just half assed it or their parents did it for them.

Maybe next time you'll do a topic you actually are knowledgeable about

Judges of scholastic science fairs are not randomly gathered or assigned. Be prepared next year.

Seems pointless to pick a topic and not want to do any research on it. But, I have been unprepared for things in the past, so I know how you feel.

Only that kid who doesn't wipe his ass has a better logic than you.

Well, OP, you only have one option: make things up. "The properties of aerodynamics are largely determined by the material in motion and the number of propulsion elves in the air. Propulsion elves have a fear of air, so the thinner the atmosphere, the more elves there will be, and the less air drag the moving object will experience. At certain speeds, the elves can push an object no faster, and we call this terminelf velocity."

Thank you very much for this; I have a test on this crap tomorrow.
