Today, I went to meet my girlfriends parents for the first time. I accidentally drove past their house the first time, but saw the whole family outside waiting to meet me. I pulled a U-Turn and heard a thud. The whole family watched me run over their dog. FML

To explain a bit more in detail, I pulled a U-Turn and the dog ran out of the yard and boom... It was a medium sized dog, I drive an SUV and didn't see it as I was making the turn. I didn't even know they had a dog... haha The following 20 minutes were probably the most uncomfortable of my life, after I knew the dog was fine I kinda laughed nervously and left. "Hi I'm the guy who is dating your daughter, sorry about the dog"... Live and you learn.

WOW this is a universal **** everyones life **** your life **** your girlfriends life (she probably wanted you to make a good impression) **** the dogs life **** her families life but if the dog is a small one that you couldnt see than its all good when you make a sudden U turn your usually trying to concentrate on making the turn you dont have time to notice other things going on and for the love of God you stupid animal lovers need to cool it he didnt mean to kill it and anyone should honestly needs to be able to see that its an honest mistake

Maybe it's just me, but why is the whole family OUTSIDE to meet you? I can understand if they're having some kind of party, but if it's specifically to meet you, then that seems a little awkward and weird to have them milling around on the yard. In any case, they are responsible for the dog and not being able to keep it from running onto the street.
