Today, I tried to prove to my girlfriend how much I've matured and that our relationship comes before anything else in my life. So I went to delete my character in World of Warcraft. I tried to confirm it, but I couldn't, breaking down in tears instead. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because she met someone else on World of Warcraft. I've been paying for her subscription. FML
Today, after six months of dating, my girlfriend decided to break up with me because my "obsession" of being on the computer and playing games all the time was cutting into "our time". She then told me to "get a life" and never wanted to see me again. She told me all of this on WoW. FML
Today, I got bored and decided to try World Of Warcraft. FML
Today, I gave the option to my boyfriend of 5 years to either quit World of Warcraft of lose me. He said WOW makes him happier. FML
Today, my boyfriend dumped me because he said the relationship was too tough for him. When I asked for an example, he responded, "Like, I don't have enough time to play World of Warcraft." FML
Today, I realized that I'll have to explain to my child that mommy and daddy met on World of Warcraft. FML
Today, several family members, including my mum, deleted me from Facebook in a concerted show of contempt. Apparently, I just can't shut up about World of Warcraft. FML
Gamers CAN have a love life
Today, my boyfriend dumped me because I was having an affair in The Elder Scrolls Online. While ranting to my online elf husband, he got upset that I had a real life boyfriend and dumped me too. FML
Today, I was feeling proud of myself because I finally quit World Of Warcraft. I later found out about the gift my dad's family gave me. It was a 12-month subscription to World Of Warcraft. FML
Today, I found myself crying for an hour when my recreated crush on The Sims 3 game rejected my character and ran off with someone else. FML

It's always a hard life for us video gamers. I empathize OP.

**** that! You shouldn't have to delete anything you don't want to man! If she can't accept that you play WOW or any other video game, she doesn't love you for who you are. Live your life how you want to! Not how she thinks it should be lived

Find a girl who wants to spend time with you regardless of your hobbies, just don't stand her up to play the game. That's being an adult right there

Don't do something you might regret later for someone who might not be there later- a good girlfriend would never ask you to delete something you put time and effort and money into, something you enjoy doing. A good girl would hop on and ask you to help her get started xD

there is no shame in this. i'm a female gamer with a gamer husband and got him into playing WoW with me despite him having a bad experience with it before and now he plays as much as I do because he quests right along with me. try doing the same with your girl. if she can't understand that and your WoW habit isn't truely interfering with your every day life then maybe you should look for a new girl.

Don't feel too bad, Op. You don't have to delete your toon. That's a lot of time and money spent. Just don't re-activate your account and your character will sit on the server until you go back on the game. Who knows? You might want to go back to playing WOW if things don't work out between you and your girl. Or maybe you can convince her to start playing with you? ;)

There's no reason why you have to give up your games. It doesn't mean you're immature or that they're more of a priority than her (written by a happily married with a baby, girl gamer). My games are how I relax! Nothing wrong with that.

I don't play WOW, but I am a gamer and I understand. You put countless hours into forging that character to what it is. In a way, it's almost like being asked to kill you're own child. I know a lot of people are gonna read this and think I'm nuts, but if they were to play it and have to do the same thing, they might have close to the same reaction

if you're a gamer and you have a girlfriend who doesn't want you playing video games, then she's probably not the girl for you. go find a girl who will play wow with you. they're out there.
