Today, I spent 2 hours slaving over a hot stove to make my kids the perfect dinner. They both came home with Happy Meals in their hands. FML

Save what they didn't eat. Have a leftover night soon and serve that. I'm sure they'd be happy to eat it; they didn't know you were making something for them, right? They didnt refuse your dinner or mean to spoil it.

At least you were thinking about them!

Weird that grandma didn't think you'd expect the kids to eat at home, or at least check. Does she assume that you starve them or does she just not care?

I hate those life lessons they always suck. But, you can change. If it's a habit to not eat your moms meals then make the effort to do so. Or whatever the case is. She will love it.

Oh geez. I hope they at the very least appreciated the effort...

Wow, I'm not sure what to say. I know it would hurt my feelings too if I saw that. I'm not sure how old they are, but hopefully as they get older, they will appreciate your cooking more. I'm 15 and I have just started loving it more!

"Slaving over a hot stove" - goddamn, get off the cross, someone else needs the wood.

What the hell did you cook that took two hours over a hot stove?

hold on. My question is, what exactly did you take two hours to make for children? judging that a happy meal feeds them they must be small, so all they basically eat are like chicken nuggets, spaghetti, French fries, Macaroni and cheese, pizza and simple things like that? I don't see how a meal for small children would take two hours to prepare.

My mom wouldn't serve that to my brother and I when we were younger. The only time we would have those types of foods is if we went out to lunch/dinner. The fact is kids can eat whatever. In fact it is healthier to not serve them the meals listed above though.

It was homemade chicken pot pie. Even though i am very busy during the day i always try and make sure my kids have a healthy homeade meal.

It's not like they knew you were cooking dinner. Maybe you should let them know next time?

You need to have a talk with their grandmother, so this doesn't happen again.
