Today, I received an overdue bill for my now nonexistent car that caught fire in July. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Many such cases
Today, my power company notified me that one of the payments my husband and I sent last week for our overdue bill had bounced. FML
Today, I was woken by the news that my car had been found, but was completely destroyed due to a fire. I didn't even know my car was missing. FML
Insurance is a racket
Today, I was finally discharged from hospital after being in there for one month, I arrive home to find a letter from a debt collection agency for my unpaid car insurance premium, and another letter from my car insurer to say that they aren't covering my accident due to non payment of premium. FML
Burning rubber
Today, I bought a car that literally caught fire seconds after I started the engine. The dealership then fobbed me off, saying I'd driven it off their forecourt (by about 3 yards), so it was entirely my problem, but they still expect my monthly payments to be on time. FML
Cancel culture
Today, I found out that my insurance canceled my contract, claiming I hadn't paid, even though I had. I only discovered this because I backed into a car. FML
Bad time for insurance denials
Today, my car broke down dead in the middle of the highway. As I was unable to get it out of the road, it was impounded, and my insurance won't help. Now I'm further in debt and struggling to get to work. FML
Today, my car was totaled. It was so new, I haven't even made the first payment on it yet. FML
Today, marks the two weeks since my paycheck should have arrived. During these two weeks, my battery has failed, tire has blown, and my phone and water bill have become past due. When I called the guy who's supposed to pay me, he said he has a note about it "somewhere on my desk". FML
Today, my car fob died on me when I was going to get donations because my house burnt down two days ago, FML
Spending spree
Today, I got a pay bonus and spend it on paying for 12 months of car registration up-front for the first time in my life, filled the tank, and got it professionally washed. After all that, I accidentally reversed into my own house, causing major damage. I have to borrow the money for the insurance excess. FML

just because you don't physically have your car any more doesn't mean your car payments just dissapear

As I understand it, even if your car gets lost in an inter dimensional portal, and you are making payments, you still have to pay it off. Same goes for mortgage payments.

so what you are saying is that it took about four months for you to get a bill saying you were over-due on your car note and that you didn't let the dealership know that your car had burnt up, what about the insurance company, did you let them know too or are you still paying them for your nonexistent car that caught fire in July.

If you're getting a bill, you financed it. If you finance a car, you Have to get full coverage insurance. If you got full coverage insurance and it caught fire, you got paid for it. Unless you're just to stupid to use that insurance money to pay off your loan, I call this FML BS.

I dont think its law in every state to have to get full coverage, OP could have found a financer that didnt care what insurance they got.

it's not a state law. it's a stipulation in the loan contract. the moneylender requires full coverage insurance.

Did you insure the car? Most loans require it. I smell BS... and burning imitation Naugahide
