Today, I realized I can't afford to break up with my boyfriend of 2 years, as we split the rent. I'll need a second job just to get out of my bad relationship. FML

OP here. I can't live with a roommate, did that for 4 years and learned a lot about what happens when your roomie doesn't come up with their half of the rent, and lost way too many friends that way. It would be worse than what I'm dealing with now. Our apartment is already the cheapest in town, I don't have parents or friends to move in with. The bright side is, my boyfriend is NOT abusive. And to the nasty comments that say YDI for using him for money, I clearly stated we split the rent.

Find a share with a roommate. There are plenty of available rooms if you look for them.

You can still break up, maybe sit down with him and talk about your relationship, and how things have changed from when you started dating, you may be surprised he might even feel the same way, and you can figure out the best way to end your relationship amicably. And even have enough time to figure out your living arrangements.

Break up and make him sleep on the couch, I'm sure he can't afford to move out on his own either so there's no reason to pretend you're still in love.

I have a friend who is still living with her ex. It's rough at times but she felt it was best for her daughter and her wallet. Worst case you might be able to do the same until you find a better option. I hope that helps and I wish you the best of luck OP.

Move in with your parents.

What if OP doesn't have parents?

This is so difficult! i could be reading into your comment too much but i hope by 'bad' you dont mean abusive? if thats the case get out as soon as you can, move in with your parents or a friend. please dont stay in a r/ship that involves violence. If this is not a violent r/ship perhaps try to work on things? talk about what it is that bothers you. We all go through patches of disliking our partners sometimes its us being emotional and not knowing what we need. all the best xx

Is it really that difficult to type out 'relationship?'

Thats the only point you took from my entire response? *claps* Thank you for enlightening me on the use of shortened words. People like you enrage me! You dont have anything of benefit to say so why comment in at all? why dont you just give the OP some advice as that is the purpose of FML not to nit pick on the way people use short hand writing.

Can't you find a basic roommate? An old college friend or high school? That's one solution...

If you find a roommate and move somewhere owned by the same company, you can often avoid fees for breaking lease and just get an early renewal in a bigger apartment (assuming you live in a one bedroom now and that's why you can't just get a roommate and kick your bf out--though moving may be cleaner either way). I'd call your landlord and check it out, and start looking for a roommate.

Any job will do! Your self respect and sanity are well worth the drudge.

Find a roommate, or move to a cheaper apartment.
