Today, I learned from the noise outside my window that construction workers start their days at 5 AM. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I discovered that it doesn’t matter where I move, I will always wake up at 5 a.m. to the sound of construction directly above my ceiling. FML
Noise cancelling anyone?
Today, just like every workday for the last 6 months, the construction workers in my building made loud noises in the morning and woke me up almost 2 hours before I would otherwise have to get up. This will continue for one more year. I'm not a morning person, and I live in a protected historical building. FML
Today, in the early hours of the morning, a worker started drilling the road right in front of my window. He stopped 5 minutes before my alarm clock rang. FML
No sleep for the wicked
Today, I came home from work to find construction workers repaving my street. I work the graveyard shift. FML
Today, like every other day since I moved into this apartment a year ago, the construction crew started their noisy work at 5:30 in the morning. When I moved in I was promised it was a quiet neighborhood; only offices. What have they been building in the meantime? Three nightclubs. FML
GET UP
Today, I left the apartment door open so the construction workers sent by our landlord could work in the kitchen, while I slept in after working a late shift. They knocked on the bedroom door at 7 a.m., asking me to move the bed. FML
Living in perfect harmony
Today, after hearing them stomp around all summer, my upstairs neighbor’s obnoxiously loud kids finally started school. Now I get to hear them get up at 6:30am and stomp around while they get ready. FML
Today, recent construction has created a manhole that cars slam over every single morning. This normally starts at 4 a.m. as people make their early commute on my busy street. With every car that hits it, there's a huge echoing slamming noise. FML
Today, I finally decided to go talk to my upstairs neighbour about the loud banging noises he makes every single morning around 8 a.m. It worked. Now he starts at 7 a.m. FML
Today, and for the 4 months preceding it, my neighbors had been remodeling their house, which meant jackhammer noises every morning. The one day they take a break, my other neighbor decides to start a remodeling project. It'll only be two more months of this. FML

Stand by your window topless and eat a banana. They will stop what they're doing.

Get some really good headphones that shut out all noise then hope you can wake up without your alarm.

Ah I've experienced this. They were making the road behind my house bigger they've worked on it for a year and a half now I think it's finally done but all that shaking when it first starts is horrible

Fyl? For what, having a cushy enough job to have the luxury to complain about how early other people have to start work from the comfort of your bed? F their lives for being the ones out there working, and ydi for complaining about someone else's hardship.

better to start early, when its still cool outside, than having to work at 40°C in the sun.
