Today, I heard back from my store management interview at Target. I was offered an overnight stock clerk position. When I called HR to find out if my application was in the wrong file I was told I lack the leadership qualities necessary for Target. I graduated with honors from a military school. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Tough crowd
Today, my application for a holiday role at a department store was declined because I was "not as qualified as some other candidates." I worked this exact same job at this exact same store last year. FML
Today, I was interviewed by a WalMart employee for a position in their pharmacy. I didn't get the job. I was more qualified than the woman who gave me the interview. FML
Good night!
Today, Target asked me if I would do the closing announcement. I've only been working there a little while, so excited I agreed. I told people, "The store is now closing, thank you for shopping at Walmart." FML
Says something about you, probably
Today, my brother, who recently got out of prison after doing time for armed robbery, got a job at Target. I applied to the same Target six times, and was denied every time. FML
And you are…?
Today, I got a phone call for a interview at Target at 4:30 pm. I got super excited, so I got dressed up and headed over there. I told the manager that I was there for my interview. He didn't know what I was talking about. My friends had prank called me. FML
Cocky
Today, I went into a store for an interview. I've had several places wanting to talk to me and this job was a lot lower paying. I got a little cocky and when offered the job, I said I wanted some time to finish my other interviews first and see what my options were. The manager then took back his offer. FML
Today, I have put in many job applications and had many interviews for a variety of positions all of which I am highly qualified for. Today, I heard back from all but one that I am overqualified. Welcome to Walmart. FML
Today, I interviewed potential employees for a job position that I was supposed to get promoted to. FML
Today, I was turned down for a job as a cashier at Best Buy. I worked like hell to get into and then graduate from one of the top Telecommunication schools in the country. I spent all my time with extracurriculars to help my resume instead of partying like my friends. I can't even be a cashier. FML
Today, I tried to get a job at Walmart. My mom was the hiring manager. She turned me down due to lack of work experience. FML

I don't get why you're complaining. Military school obviously leaves you with an inferior education for working at Target. There's stocking shelves, answering phones, operating a cash register, mopping floors. You may even have to show customers where things are located in the store. I think you may actually have to have your PhD to work there.

Maybe it was a liberal, anti-war target manager or store. who knows?

They probably wanted someone stupider. But you can find a better job. Good luck on everything

They were probably looking for people with actual experience as a retail manager. Sometimes, even with an education, you still need to start at the bottom.

then why are you applying for a job at target?

I don't know why a few people above hate Target so much as an employer. I have been a team member for almost three years and I like it. I also earned good grades, had good recommendations and am currently doing well in college, so the theory that they only hire mindless automatons is pretty much void. Chances are your Target isn't hiring for team leads right now, or if they are, they have a selected number of available positions. Target also takes your personality and experience into account. Usually they don't hire managers without them first being team members who have served on the floor and know the ins and outs of the Target store. If you're that desperate, take the smaller position and work your way up. Good luck!

Well, #29 I must admit that the French have never been on the side of America in unsuccessful wars, but I see no reason to blame us in your misfortune. Target is, as far as can be a big corporation nowadays, an all-american company as this link will tell you http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/ownership/institutional.asp?symbol=TGT Surprisingly, assholes are everywhere, even in America it seems. And if you despise French-owned corporations so much, you may want never to come back here, because, guess what ?...

ok, so for the last guy who commented, let me refer you to the following site, that will clear up any questions you may have about why the fact that Target is owned by a French company explains everything. http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/text/france.html

#39, I was not trying to count victories or losses in war of France or America, just to point that the statement "Target is French-owned" is false and a random mark of hatred that I think is way out of the original subject. And you seem to go the same way. Next time, try not quoting a mocking, irrelevant, partial website.
