Today, I got my wisdom teeth out. Afterwards, my parents thought it would be a great idea to have my favourite meal. I got to watch them enjoy it. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went to the dentist to get my wisdom teeth removed. The surgeon took a better X-ray to see what he was dealing with before he got started. When he came back into the room, he started to laugh and told me it was my lucky day because in the X-rays he found 2 big extra wisdom teeth. FML
Today, after having my jaw wired shut for 2 months, I finally got to eat. During the first bite of my sandwich I pulled my jaw out of place. FML
Ouch
Today, I got my wisdom teeth removed and took the pain medicine that the oral surgeon prescribed for me before bed. The pain actually did go away for the most part, until my stomach decided to betray me and make me throw up, forcing my jaw to open more than it could after surgery. FML
Hangry time
Today, I went to the dentist to have a tooth pulled. The day before, I was too anxious to eat anything, so I went in with an empty stomach. There were complications during the extraction and now I'm not allowed to eat for the next 24 hours. FML
Today, I got my wisdom teeth removed. My girlfriend had agreed to come over after and make sure I was okay, so I called her, saying I was done. She told me she'd made new plans, and to "just suck on a tampon, you pussy". FML
Birthday Boy
Today, it's my 16th birthday. It's also it is the day my parents scheduled my wisdom teeth to be pulled out. Happy birthday to me, then. FML
Today, I got my wisdom teeth taken out. The two male doctors told me they'd give me anesthesia, but when they did, I could still hear them. I heard them talking about my breasts and how flat they were for a 17 year old. FML
Bad news
Today, the dentist told me I needed to have two of my wisdom teeth on opposite ends of my mouth pulled. I suppose a liquid diet won't be all that bad. FML
Hey, well, happy birthday anyway
Today, my parents took me out to dinner. I thought they were taking me because it's my birthday. Turns out they are getting divorced. They forgot it was my birthday. FML
The whole tooth and nothing but the tooth
Today, I had my wisdom teeth pulled. The local anesthesia worked on three of the four teeth. I found out about the last tooth when the dentist was mid-yank. FML

You could always remind them that you're the one who gets to pick their nursing home.

watching someone else eat your favorite meal is the worst.

Be wise and don't let them get to you.

You can pick it, but it doesn't mean they'll stay. We attempted to move my great-grandmother to a retirement home about five years ago. The morning after her move-in my uncle asked how she liked it, and she punched him right in the jaw whilst screaming profanities at him. We moved her out the same day and took her back home. It nearly started a revolution in the place. People started complaining to their children and asking why they couldn't go home too.

heh, revolution of the oldies. sounds hilarious. :P

And quite sad.. poor old people. They're envious and just want to have thier old life back, not feel pampered all the time. Btw, #2 your great grandmother sounds like a badass.

No arguments there. Well, maybe not the worst thing. There are other things like this that can get under your skin.

That must be painful to watch...

Suck it up, it's only temporary. They can make your favorite meal again after you've healed.

Whoosh

That's annoying. Especially because you couldn't do anything to stop them, or eat some. :( All you can do is savor the next time you eat your favorite meal!

It would suck if the "next time" is forever away from now. Sometimes parents like to spite their kids.

I'd be so mad that I would throw my wisdom teeth at them!

I don't think the dentist usually lets you take them home. I know because I asked.
Quendolin 24
Interesting, because when I got them removed, I was asked if I wanted to take them home.

I got offered the one they were able to take out whole.... 3 of mine were very large and still under the gums (no room for them to come in or anything) and had to be broken apart to take them out....

i got my wisdom teeth right away, sealed in a box thing. it looks good.

Mine were impacted so they had to give me general anesthetic and cut out all four. Guess they'd thrown them out by the time I was coherent.

You didn't throw a fit screaming "they're mine give them back"?
blackonblight 33
They wouldn't let me keep mine either =(

Ask them to get you your favorite meal when you finally heal
dramaelf 37
You can eat all the ice cream you want and no one can judge you for it, though. That's something.
blackonblight 33
All you want? No. All you CAN, perhaps. You might find eating is too difficult and even ice cream requires too much jaw movement. Yay soup.
