Today, I got locked out of my car for an hour in frigid weather at a busy gas station. Every time I tried to use the key, the alarm went off and the locks wouldn't work. The car company claims they've never heard of this happening. I just bought it last week after taking out a 5 year loan. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Cars these days…
Today, my relatively new car locked down, with my keys inside of it, while it was still running. In a panic because it was getting dark and I was already low on fuel, I called a locksmith. He showed up and told me he needed to see some ID before unlocking the car. My ID was in the car. FML
Roadside blues
Today, I locked myself out of my car while the engine was running. I called roadside assistance, waited 40 minutes, then watched a stranger walk past, point at the unlocked passenger door, and open it for me. FML
Today, after numerous attempts, my car door still wouldn't unlock. After going ballistic on the lock, the key broke off inside. I then realized it wasn't my car. FML
Today, the little bell in my car that lets you know your keys are still in your ignition went out. How did I find out? I locked myself out of both my house and my car. FML
Today, I locked my keys in the car while the car was running because I got out to get the parking ticket attached to my windshield. FML
Today, I locked my keys in my car at a gas station. A man stopped to help me with a wire hanger. After about 20 min in the freezing weather, he was getting close to unlocking it when I looked over at the passenger door to see that it was unlocked. All the doors were unlocked but the driver's side. FML
Stranded
Today, I locked my keys in my car. After looking for the spare key for hours, we called our insurance company, who then sent a "locksmith" with a wedge and a bar to open my car. All he did was break the driver and passenger doorhandles. My stuff is still inside. FML
Good boy
Today, I got locked out of my car while the engine was idling. The "good news"? My dog inside the car thought this was the funniest thing ever and barked happily every time I tried to open it. FML
Today, after closing down the gas station I work at, I went to unlock the door to the building. Turned out the lock broke and I was locked inside until my boss could get there to let me out. FML
Today, I locked my keys in my car. I had a spare key in my wallet, that I also left in the car. FML

I'm thinking you should say what type of car you got, so we all know what car not to buy.

OP got into the car, so OP can drive it....

I don't usually take this approach, but you may want to take some sort of legal action. Though I would recommend trying to get the car company to fix the problem first.

Time for that company to issue a recall soon

Just ask them to disable the alarm.

Yes.... Perfect way to deal with things

Exactly! That's why o came up with the brilliant and carefully considered plan!

With english skills like yours that might be the only option to get a point across. Completely different from the rest of the world. Any normal person would try conflict resolution and negotiating before "hunting down the CEO and PUNCHING HIM IN DA FAAAAACE!"

I actually have a superb grasp of the English language. I was simply feeling silly. Good lord, it's amazing how many people are too simple minded to understand that this is a humor site, and that most of the comments are therefore made in jest.

@75 Finally somebody understands me.... It seems like every time I make a joke that you have to think longer than 5 seconds to understand, I get buried. Wondering why....

Car companies lie. Do some online research and then take your case to the dealer with what you've learned. If they fail to act contact the company itself and the Better Business Bureau. I'd also get a lawyer.

Or he could simply PUNCH DEM IN DA FAAAAAAAAACE!!!!!

"And the locks wouldn't work." Hard to drive in a car when the locks won't work.

My car does this if the alarm is on and you don't have the key fob in you. Activate and disable the alarm, then unlock with the remote and it should stop.

I really hope you meant "on you."
