Today, I finally got the courage to tell my parents that I'm gay. My mom said "Yeah, we know." When I asked how they knew, my dad, without looking up from the tv, said, "We've been monitoring your Internet history." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, after weeks of thinking and playing every outcome possible in my head, I told my parents I'm gay. My dad nodded and didn't even look up from his book; my mom told me to go to the doctor if it starts to itch. FML
Denial
Today, at 18, I finally told my mom I was gay. She spent the rest of the day bringing up my "future wife" at every possible chance she had. FML
Today, as an April fools day joke, I decided to tell my mom and dad that I was gay. After an awkward silence, my mom looks at me, smiles, and says, "well, we have known for a while." She wasn't joking. FML
This is me
Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my parents. My mother turned to me and said, "Wait you're actually gay? I thought you were just saying that to piss off your father." I came out to her when I was 16, and have confided in her about my past relationships. FML
Dad jokes, part #23556
Today, I finally let my parents meet a boyfriend of mine for the first time ever. My dad mentioned how he was happy to finally meet him, because for the past 4 years he'd thought I was gay. FML
Today, I finally worked up the courage to tell my mom that I'm gay. She sympathetically patted my back and told me I don't need to make up excuses for me being so unattractive to women. FML
Today, I came out to my mom. I had an epic speech planned, and when I tried to tell her, it all fell apart and I started crying and just said, "I'm gay." After a few seconds silence, my mom sighs and says, "Duh." FML
Unexpected
Today, I came out to my parents. Their response was basically, "Oh, you’re coming out? But we’ve known for years. It was obvious, so obvious we never knew you were in the closet in the first place." FML
Today, I finally decided to tell my parents I was a lesbian. They spent the next few hours reading me the bible. FML

Major invasion of your privacy, sure. But at least they didn't freak out and were totally fine about it. Plus, they waited until you were ready to tell them rather than confront you when they figured it out through snooping...gotta give them credit for that!

They accepted you, and waited for you to feel safe enough to tell them. They sound like great parents to me.

hahaha. on the bright side, there was no huge shock, and even if they aren't exhilarated they obviously aren't that disturbed by it either. so that's good :) haha does it ever make me nervous about my own parents watching me, though. i really don't think they're that computer-savvy, but it's still a little worrisome.

unrelated : has anyone ever noticed that people who disapprove of homosexuality are more likely to write "close-minded" than "closed-minded"? just an internet observation. :/

That's because it can be spelled both ways. Just so you know. Because it's not close like close the door, it's close like the opposite of far. As a way of saying that their "close-mind" does not see a broad range of views that they tolerate.

one one hand, they were honerst about telling you that they were spying on you. on the other hand, they were spying on you and you can't trust them. it's good that you have the courage to talk about it. too bad they're jerks.

Put a keylogger on your parents' computer, see how they like it.

Well, it could have gone a lot worse? XD But if I had been watching my son's history and found a few tons of gay ****, I probably would have at least let him know.
