Today, thanks to my estranged husband, I had three seizures at work. I came home yesterday to find that my seizure medications were completely gone. He'd flushed them down the toilet because he thinks I'm psychotic and "read on the internet" that it's because of the meds. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
PANIC!
Today, my dad had a seizure just after taking his anti-seizure medicine and having been seizure-free for two and a half months. Did I mention I was pooping while my poor dad was having this? I ran out with my pants around my ankles, due to my stepmom flipping out, screaming at me to find the phone (which she found). FML
Thanks, vultures
Today, I had a seizure at work and had to go to the hospital. I'd saved up a bunch of money and was on the verge of moving out at the embarrassing age of 26, but thanks to lackluster health insurance, I lost all of my money and am now in debt. I also now can't drive for six months. FML
Toxic workplace
Today, I had a seizure for the first time in months. My fiancé went over to my job to let them know I wouldn't be going in. My boss bitched both of us because I didn't call myself. Sure, I'll get right on that when I'm conscious. FML
Asshole
Today, someone at work took my delicate medication out of the fridge to make room for their lunch. Now my medication has expired. FML
Good guy
Today, I had a seizure at my boyfriend's. The second I began to seize, he cursed and picked me up, dropping me on the floor complaining, "Now I have to clean the damn couch." I had urinated because I had no control over my body. The couch is still stained. He dumped me for ruining his furniture. FML
Today, I found my mom throwing my very expensive and important medication down the toilet. She thought I was doing drugs. FML
Nutso
Today, I woke up with one of the worst migraines I've had in months. My mother (who thinks I'm a hypochondriac) began to scream at me about "making up an illness". When I asked for my meds, she called me an addict, and dumped my $300 prescription down the sink. FML
Today, I had a seizure at work. My boss walked by and saw me, but didn't help or do anything because he thought I was "picking something up off the floor." FML
Today, I had an anxiety attack because I thought I'd lost my anxiety medication. It ended up being on the shelf right where I left it. FML
Today, at work in a call center, I went into my locker to get my pain pills from a recent surgery. When I opened the bottle, half my pills spread all over the floor. My boss walked by and said, "I knew it!" FML

If he's estranged, does he have a key to your home? If not, you need to report him for breaking and entering. I suggest that you work on legally securing your safety from him, which includes getting him removed from having access to your medical records and being contacted for decisions related to your health in the event of emergencies. This time his behavior caused seizures- next time, it could be worse.

As an Epileptic myself I hope that you beat the crap out of him for this. Taking meds away from someone with seizures is tantamount to assault because it is all but guaranteed the person will have a seizure that can severely injure them. Talk to a Law Enforcement officer and see if there is any legal course you can take against him, also don't let him stay your "estranged" husband and make him your EX-husband. Hoping you are well. :)

OP said "estranged husband," which leads me to believe they're in the process of getting a divorce.

Says the person who used the incorrect "you're"
DanielleinDC 34
Wow, that is just awful. He should not have access to your home and your medication. If you have a lawyer, make sure you mention this to him/her to bring up during the divorce proceedings. I don't know if a restraining order would be out of line here, but you need to take action against him.

And that's when I would cut the brakes off the car

Is there a lawsuit in place for this kind of endangerment?

I'm almost certain that tampering with someone's medication is illegal all on its own. If it was me, I'd get the cops involved. I hope you're able to get emergency refills.

I can't find words to describe this man. Get a restraining order now and seek legal counseling. Keep your medical records and meds safe and at ready access you can't mess with seizures. i hope you soon get rid of this moron.

If you're still living together, go to a friend or family members home. Get a restraint order. Go to the DA with proof of getting new pills and possibly the ER. Just calling a battered woman shelter hotline will help

Good news! Turns out he's the psychotic one, and the cure is repeated beatings to the genitals. You can trust me; I read it on the internet.
