Today I bought the Gold edition to a game for $90. I expected to be very good only to realize it was the same as the previous installment. I went to check the refund policy and it said that I had to have played less than 2 hours, I had 121 minutes. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I bought an expensive video game and decided to show it off and post a photo of it on Instagram. When I got home to play it, it rejected my activation key. I then realised it was showing in the Instagram post. FML
Today, I went out and bought a copy of Black Ops 2. I got home and opened the case, only to see the game disk was missing. When I went back to the store to complain, the guy at the desk accused me of trying to pull an old scam on him. FML
Carded
Today, I bought an expansion to a card game, only to compare the card backs and realize I've owned a fake copy of the card game for two years. FML
Today, my "friend" returned my Survival Edition of Fallout 3. I should be happy, but he scratched it all to hell. My dad paid nearly $500 for it. He refuses to pay for it to be fixed or buy me a new one. FML
Today, while buying Red Dead Redemption 2, the cashier spoiled the ending. FML
Bad connexion
Today, for his birthday, I bought my son the Xbox game he wanted. Seven hours for the game to install, two hours to download, then install an update, which failed twice and had to be restarted. He was a nightmare all afternoon waiting for it, then it was bedtime and the game still wasn’t ready. FML
You tried
Today, in an effort to try and be closer to my girlfriend's son, I bought him an expensive Xbox game I know he desperately wanted so we could play it together. He was excited, until he realised that I that paid for it. He snapped the disc and threw the pieces in the bin. At least I tried. FML
Customers from hell
Today, a customer gave me hell because a high-spec game he bought wouldn't run on his ancient Windows XP PC. I ended up having to profusely apologize and refund him. Whoever coined the phrase "the customer is always right" should probably be shot, run over by a bus, then shot a few more times. FML
Get on with it
Today, I went to play a game with a friend. Turns out he's the sort of dude who, when he first installs a game, gets obsessive with making sure the settings are EXACTLY right. We got maybe five minutes of gameplay in between menu sliders, hardware tweaks, and unofficial drivers and patches. FML
Life is life
Today, I spent a good hour playing a life simulation game so my character could go through the stages of pregnancy and labor, only to jealously cry for an hour because my character can successfully get pregnant and have a baby, and I can't. FML

That's the Steam policy. They do accept refunds that only barely break their rules. You just have to submit it.

Gold editions aren't ever about extra game content. What I mean by this is that they normally include ingame items and bonuses-even sometimes merch. But the special edition doesn't mean that there's extra content. They might include a pass to extra DLCs though but the details would be included.

It took you two hours and one minute to realize you were just playing the Plastic Edition marketed as Gold? Sounds like game publisher is good at mining gold from gullible, unobservant boobs like you.

Why you gotta be so rude? Don't you know he's a human too?

You gonna marry him anyway?

Put in for the refund. They will stretch the rules. Especially for only 1 minute.

If you're talking about Steam, then try and get a refund anyway. Their policy is flexible and I'm sure they'll give you a pass for one minute.

Do all of you who said 'steam' policy, mean stem policy? I must admit that I know next to nothing about video game terminology.

No, Steam. That is a computer-based game distributing company.

Oh okay thanks.

Kids these days don't read when clicking "Buy". Gold and Platinum editions of games are discounted editions. Not editions with more content or DLC's. Go google it next time before wasting money and then moaning about it like a little n00b

Other "versions" of a game have never been different enough to qualify as a new game. I'm hoping that you're either very young or brand new to gaming.
