Today, I bought stamps to send a letter. For some unknown reason, instead of putting the stamp on the letter, I posted the letter and the stamp booklet into the postbox. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Rushed
Today, I rushed to the post office to mail an important document for the study abroad program that I'd applied for, which was due in a few days. Just as the envelope slipped out of my hand and into the mail box, I caught a glimpse of the upper right corner where there was supposed to be a stamp. FML
Today, on the way to work, I pulled over at a postbox to post a letter. I walked up to the box with the letter in one hand, car key in the other. Guess which one I posted. FML
Today, I had my driver's permit in an envelope to keep it safe and a letter to mail out. I drove away from the post office with the letter in my hand. FML
Today, I sent my boyfriend a letter, turns out it was the wrong address. My panties are now somewhere in Canadian post. FML
Today, I noticed that even though I got all my Christmas shopping done a month earlier than usual, I forgot to put anything in the mail. FML
Today I was very excited to go to the post office to claim a parcel. I didn't know what it could be, so I assumed it was a gift. It turned out to be a speeding ticket. FML
Snail mail
Today, after moving to a new house my life has fallen apart, paperwork lost, appointments missed, job offers rescinded, and now I know why. The postbox by my new house isn’t in use, so four months worth of the letters I've posted are sitting uncollected inside it. It even has a big "Not in use" sign on it. FML
Sticking with you
Today, in my excitement to make some new cards for the postcard exchange I take part in, I apparently spilled my bottle of glue directly into the bag that contains my entire postcard collection. I didn't notice until several hours later. FML
About that…
Today, I sent a get well card to my friend. it wasn't until after I got home from posting it did I realise that the stamps I put on the envelope had the phrase "Let's Get Active" on them with drawings of people playing sports. My friend is in a wheelchair. FML
Today, I bought a new mailbox to replace the old one that was stolen. Two hours after I put the new mailbox up, the old one was back and the new one was missing. FML

The horse's name is Wednesday.

That's nice and how do you think Wednesday would resolve the conflict in Syria? Just to be relevant.... to the world! To this FML? Not so much.

Does anyone remember that Pickles comic Opal took Muffin the cat to the mailbox along with the letter, only to come back with letter?

So... was your book of stamps taken or do just feel dumb? And was your letter time sensitive? Is that what makes this fml worthy?Overall, this seems like a pretty tame FML. If it makes you feel better. I've done stupider things. Like doing the "the ceiling" joke response to "what's up?" when outside, thrown an entire roll of toilet paper into the toilet instead of putting it on the TP holder, and have run full speed into an OPEN door giving myself a huge egg on my forehead for example. And all at an age that I will not publicly admit. So dont feel bad as stupidity is fairly common within nearly everyone, whether they'd admit it or not. Which is kind of frightening when you think about it. I sometimes feel like the human race as a whole really needs to get its shit together.

They put the entire thing of stamps in a mailbox. The FML here (besides the derp moment) is that it wasn't just a personal mailbox where they could just get it back out, but one of those locked barrels or whatever you want to call them that are specifically for putting letters to be delivered.

Plot twist: the post man/woman keeps up your book of stamps and takes it home to where they have a collection of random "discarded" stamp books. And each one is labeled with the post box number and location. And he makes up a little story about each one and how it came to be there. "One bright and sunny day, a book of flowery stamps decided to travel the world. It set off on its journey at post box #328. It was dark inside but full of life meeting the other happy stamps affixed to letters setting out on their journeys..."

Is it possible to call the list office and describe what happened? I'm sure that's happened before
