Today, at work, a customer ordered a caramel latte with no caramel. I made a regular latte after explaining that’s what it was. He got angry and threw it at me. I got fired for insulting his intelligence. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, at work, a customer came in and ordered a "Butterbeer Frappuccino." When I said we serve no such thing, she yelled at me for "lying" to her, saying she knew about our "secret menu." She ended up complaining to my manager and demanded that he fire me. FML
Today, my boss fired me because I "didn't get the right kind of coffee beans." FML
Customer relationships
Today, I assisted a customer at work. She was asking me all sorts of stupid questions and acting like an entitled, spoiled brat. When she left, since I had a mask on, I meant to mouth, "Stupid bitch" but I blurted it out loud. Everyone heard. I was fired. FML
Today, while working as a barista, a customer asked me for "gluten free milk". When I told her that most milk is gluten free, she flew into a fit of rage and cussed me out for being a "cheeky bitch". My manager then lectured me about not being "patronising" to customers. FML
Today, a customer threw his cup of coffee at me screaming that it wasn't hot enough. Well, maybe it wasn't hot enough for him, but it was sure hot enough to burn me. FML
This is fine
Today, while at work, I suddenly went into diabetic shock. As I was nearly passed out on the floor, a customer yelled at me for not getting his coffee in time. FML
Today, a customer screamed at me, because her iced coffee tasted exactly like coffee, and she hates coffee. Sadly, this isn't even the most insane person I've had to deal with at this job. FML
Latte
Today, I ordered my usual at my local coffee shop. The barista asked, “Name for the order?” For some reason, my brain short-circuited and I said, “Latte.” So they called out “Latte” when it was ready, and I had to shame-walk to the counter. FML
Make your mind up
Today, while taking to-go orders at my restaurant, a customer called saying he wanted his food well done. He even said, “Burn it to a crisp.” Which is what I told the kitchen. When he came to pick it up, he opened his food, inspected it and screamed, “Not this burned, you damn retard!” and threw it at me. FML
How very dare you?
Today, I was getting lunch at a fast food restaurant. My boss was in front of me, and in order to get on his good side I offered to pay. Instead, I got fired because I guess my boss assumed I was making fun of his salary, which I knew nothing about. FML

I learned that in those types of situations just do what they say and don't comment. As long as they believe they got what they ordered all is good.

You don’t want to work for a company who allows that kind of behavior from customers anyways. Hope you can find something better.

Somedays when you go to work, you just have to check your brain at the door.

Just think of it as obviously being over-qualified for the position.

Unfortunately many do allow it for fear of bad word of mouth on social media. If it happened in the US most states can fire you for anything

In many of the US states, you can get fired for anything. Or nothing,

You could file a wrongful termination suit. It seems as though the customer didn't have any intelligence for you to insult.

there probably was a latte explaining to do after.

I’m sorry, I meant to order that without the latte.

You should’ve kept your mouth shut and made the plain latte. Stupid people don’t like to have their stupidity exposed, and, unfortunately, they have money to spend. And you know that bs about customer always being...?

Its hard to believe such stupid people exists.

Not defending the behaviour of the customer at all, but just staying quiet like some people here advised is a bad idea, too. It is important to ask or explaing stuff to people, because maybe there is just a misunderstanding. I always order caramel coffee without caramel sauce because the sauce has milk in it but the flavor doesn't. Most of the baristas tend to be confused by this, too. It's annoying but you talk and explain and then you get what you want.
