Today, at the restaurant, my boyfriend told his parents that we were going to get married. They pretended not to hear and had a discussion about the contents of their plates. FML

That's pretty childish behaviour, because ignoring events always means they just go away. While they're having their food discussion, I'd start having a discussion about upcoming wedding plans.
