Today, after working my ass off for 2 months, receiving perfect reviews, and going out of my way to take on extra work to get a job offer from the location where I temp, I finally got an offer for a permanent position. Included in the offer was a $3.00 an hour pay cut and no insurance. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Contracted
Today, I finally got an offer for a salaried position with the company I've been working for as a contractor for the past two years. They offered less than what I make now, but hey, benefits! FML
Quiet quitting time
Today, I went to do a drug test for a new job. While I was there, they said the job was part-time with no insurance. Previously it was supposed to be full time with insurance. Now I have to take a job that pays $20,000 less a year. FML
Gimme more
Today, I finally got the call from HR telling me I passed the interview and will get a permanent position, doing the same job I already do. Then they continued to say that if I accept, my pay will be cut to match “other employees pay”. I barely make it on what they are paying me now. I also have a Master's degree. FML
Today, after months of searching, I was offered a job. After hearing how excited I was on the phone, HR docked the initial salary offer by 40% in the written contract. She said it was non-negotiable. Guess I'm back to job hunting. FML
Exploitation
Today, after trying so hard to get myself back on my feet, I had an amazing interview and I was hired on the spot. I was so happy, until I read the position I was given, and it turns out I didn't get full-time, I got barely enough hours to even be part-time. FML
Today, I was forced into accepting a "promotion" for a position that pays less than what I get right now. FML
Today, after working 85 hours in a single week, I finally got my paycheck. $500. Apparently I got a pay cut without anyone telling me. FML
Today, after 3 years at my job I received a 14% raise. I was informed I will be transitioned from hourly to salary. I will now be making $1500 LESS than I made last year. FML
Downsizing awaits
Today, I got a 25-cent raise at work. That would be wonderful, had they not cut 6 hours off my schedule as well. I'm now making $200 less a month than I was pre-raise. FML
Today, I had my six month employee review. My manager said that my attendance was good, and I was exceeding my targets performance wise. My reward, a five cent per hour pay cut. Apparently the rate at which I started is too high to meet their current pay scale. FML

Welp, you better don your favorite false mustache and reapply to the temp program.

Temp jobs often pay more than their permanent equivalent. It sucks sometimes but that's the way it is, at least in Australia anyway

The way it works with temp agencies is the company pays a certain rate per hour for your services--say $20.00. You probably get $12.00 of that because the temp agencies has to pay all the taxes associated with your employment (after all, the temp agency is your employer) and the costs of running the agency. It still sucks that they are really low-balling you like this. I hope you told them no.

The company I work for does the same thing and wonders why they can't retain anybody or get decent new hires. Once they explain this to the floaters they decline. It's lower pay for the same job and now your gas is no longer covered. If you're a floater you get paid more, your gas is covered, and most sites don't ask you to do much cause they know you won't be there long. What's the incentive to take the position? More work, less pay, no gas.

Keep up the good work! Maybe you'll achieve the ultimate honor: volunteer. Imagine the purity of your work ethic compared to wage-****** like me.

More and more cheap labor is born every day. So I would be happy with what you get, because the human population is rising faster and faster into oblivion.

OP, I can sympathize. Had that happen to me once. Finally got hired on after being a temp for 6 months and they cut my pay by $3/hr. I was barely getting by as it was. Had to then get a part-time job to make ends meet.
