Today, after working 85 hours in a single week, I finally got my paycheck. $500. Apparently I got a pay cut without anyone telling me. FML

Today, I found out I'm getting a pay cut, a week after I told my boss I need a raise or second job just to afford bills. I made the company 10k last week. FML
Today, I got a 25-cent raise at work. That would be wonderful, had they not cut 6 hours off my schedule as well. I'm now making $200 less a month than I was pre-raise. FML
Today, my coworker got a raise by making our boss give me a pay cut for doing his job while he was slacking off. As we were heading home for the day, he found $100. FML
Today, I drove a total of 4 hours for my boss to demote me, downgrade my pay, and make the kid I hired my new boss. Why? Because I asked about the $500 missing from my paycheck. FML
Today, my boss asked me to talk to the HR manager to see if I was happy about my pay, which made me think I was going to get a raise. Turns out they paid me nearly twice as much as they should have for the last 2 years and I owe them over €5000. FML
Today, after working my ass off for 2 months, receiving perfect reviews, and going out of my way to take on extra work to get a job offer from the location where I temp, I finally got an offer for a permanent position. Included in the offer was a $3.00 an hour pay cut and no insurance. FML
Today, I found out my reward for topping three of the four employee performance charts was a paycut. FML
Today, after I gave notice to quit my job 3 weeks ago, and my last day is tomorrow, I found out that all overtime is now $40 an hour. FML
Today, at the job I've had for eight years, I finally got the raise I was supposed to get a year ago. One hour later I found out the store was closing and we were all out of a job in two weeks. FML
Today, I excitedly went to check this week's paycheck, only to see that I only received $9.00. This isn't a mistake, this is really what I make. FML

Where do you work!? Unless it's a place that pays you less than minimum wage because of tips, or a place where the minimum wage is less than $6 an hour; what happened is illegal. Check your pay stub, they may not have logged all your hours.

Did you have a pay advance you still owed? start a 401k? child support? somehow those numbers don't add up. I worked 140 in two weeks and 1000 was taken out for various legit reasons but it was still a shock to me. definitely check pay stub and make sure right hours and right pay. don't ever quietly accept a pay cut without getting a reason for it

Most other countries which use a variation of dollars also have a minimum wage (such as Ontario Canada which has a minimum wage of $14) or the cost of living is lower which reduces the FML significantly (unless it is the Bahamas).

Everyone it Is possible op is getting paid minimum wage. This was probably their paycheck after taxes were taken out. They may have it set up to have the most of their taxes taken out or they may have insurance being pulled. That being said it’s illegal to give you a pay cut without notifying you ahead of time. You should contact hr.

Actually, no. Even at minimum wage their pay would be higher than that. Plus the fact that working that many hours would require overtime to be paid, which would raise their pay higher.

Overtime varies from state to state there are Some states that do not offer over time.

85 hours in a single week with anything after 40 paid a time and a half... Hold, on. Math isn't my strong suit. Carry the one, add the decimal, divide by lunch and subtract three red hats.... If you're making U.S. federal minimum wage, they are taking out about $275 in taxes and other deductions.
