Today, after recently breaking up with my boyfriend, I unknowingly washed my laundry using his washing tabs. My whole wardrobe now smells like my ex. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Smoked
Today, I washed my clothes in the shared laundry room. All my clothes came out smelling like smoke. FML
Today, I discovered that my expensive new shampoo smells exactly like my ex-girlfriend. So now, whenever I shower, I'm showered with depression. FML
Today, I bought some expensive fabric softener since I'm not too keen on my detergent's smell. Only after washing two weeks worth of laundry did I discover that mixed together they realistically mimic the smell of fresh puke. FML
What are you doing?
Today, after finishing the laundry, I took clothes out of the dryer and took a big whiff of their delicious clean scent. That was when I noticed that my mom was watching me, and I had just smelled my dad's still-stained underwear that was on top. FML
Dank
Today, I woke up to a weird smell in my apartment. I checked everywhere but couldn’t find the source. After a while, I discovered the smell was coming from the pile of laundry I'd left in the corner, laundry that I thought was clean. It was the gym clothes I'd thrown in there three weeks ago. FML
Dude, gross
Today, I tried to gently tell my boyfriend that he needs to wash his clothes more often as some of them smell pretty musty. He got all pissy (no pun intended) and assured me that none of his exes ever complained about a smell. I can’t even go down on the guy because his crotch smells bad. FML
Today, I came home to find my fiancé trying to do laundry. His version was "rubbing the smelly spots with baby powder". Looks like I'll be the only one doing laundry for the rest of our lives. FML
Today, I found out that my ex-boyfriend stole a pair of my underwear, and still wears them to this day. FML
Creepy guy
Today, I ran into my ex-boyfriend at the store. Before I knew what was happening, he'd sniffed me and started whimpering about how I don't smell like I used to. He does this kind of crazy shit all the time. FML
Flavor of the month
Today, I was doing the laundry but couldn't tell if one basket contained dirty clothes or clean clothes. I put my head down into the basket and took a whiff to check, and smelled something strong. I looked down and noticed I had shoved my nose into my mother's dirty panties and inhaled deeply. FML

Didn't you learn your lesson after you made a similar mistake in the shower?
HelloSirs 14
Clearly the only option is to burn down her house. Much easier solution.

@32 I don't think I'm going to dignify this response with an answer...

Just wash it again with different detergent?

good excuse for a new wardrobe.

Yeah, I buy new clothes instead of washing them too
botanistjessica 24
One of my coworkers says she buys a new bra every week because "You can only wash them once before they go bad".
kimj356 6
She must have some bodacious ****
skoob1 12
If she buys a new bra every week, and only washes it once, then that insinuates that she only wears a bee twice a week...
Velnaa 17
Or she wears it for 3.5 days, washes it and then wears it for another 3.5 days.

Time to re wash your whole wardrobe

OP must not re-wash: Smell Me, SMELL ME!

Wash them again, seems like a waste of time but it will be worth it, smell is the most strongly associated sense with memory.

You mustn't have read the comments on like every other FML on this site. "That stinks" or "that's shitty" are like invitations for flaming.

Wash them again.

That would have been my first thought not run straight to fml
klovemachine 24
It's only temporary. Next time you wash your clothes use something else and it'll be ok :-)
igive 29
She can also drench herself in perfume. Sure no one will want to be near hear, but it'll mask his scent.
Comet_Candy 23
Parfum de mouffette would work best ;).
tacojauns 45
Is it really that distinct of a smell?
laya_fml 26
Apparently. Her boyfriend must either smell really bad or really good.

A great way to start moving on!

How mentaly unstable are you, I understand you being upset about breaking up, but getting worked up over detergent is too much.
CharresBarkrey 16
I don't know, scent is the most powerful sense to bring back memories. She technically can't help it. Her nose is too close to her brain.
SillyGirl4602 23
Just because a scent reminds her of her ex boyfriend it doesn't make her mentally unstable.
SuperDanielNL 23
But I think you are right, in the way that more like a distinct smell like his cologne or his body-odour would bring back memories. Not a generic laundry detergent, I mean, will she also use a different thooth paste now? A different dishwasher detergent? Then again, thats just what I think.
