Today, after months of telling my landlord about the weak floorboards in my living room, I fell through them as I was trying to repair them myself. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was walking through my kitchen when I discovered a weak spot in the floor. Tomorrow, I'm going to have to fix the giant hole caused when I put my foot through it. FML
Slumming it
Today, my mum and I were moving the last of my stuff into my new flat when I heard some creaking. The sound was coming from the bathroom, so I went to check it out. As I stepped through the door, the floor collapsed and the bathtub and I fell right through. FML
Ouch
Today, I discovered that the odd creaking noise I hear when I walk down the stairs is actually a crack that had been getting larger over the years. I found out when I fell through and plummeted to the stairs below. FML
Long day
Today, after dealing with tons of drama and working a 14 hour shift, I took a shower. When I stepped out, a weak spot in the floor gave way. While falling through the floor I grabbed the toilet tank lid, which fell into the tank and broke it. Now my leg hurts and the bathroom's flooded. FML
DIY
Today, to save money, I wanted to fix my own leaky roof instead of hiring someone. When I got on the roof, the ladder fell. As it was falling, it broke three windows and snagged the siding of my house ripping over half of it off. FML
It's all deregulation's fault
Today, it's been a few days since I moved into a new apartment and was excited to finally have a balcony. I went out to enjoy the view, but as I leaned against the railing, it gave way and I fell two stories onto the pavement below. I ended up with a broken leg and a huge medical bill. FML
Coming through!
Today, I was helping my sister by getting some old boxes down from her attic. Too bad I didn't realize the piece of plywood I was standing on doesn't extend all over the attic floor. Of course, I did realize it when I went through the ceiling onto the concrete floor of her garage. FML
Watch your step
Today, I was walking next to this building that was getting renovated, and read a sign that said "Watch out for falling debris at all times." While I was watching out for debris, I fell down a staircase. FML
Urbex is risky stuff
Today, I was riding my bike when I passed a derelict house that recently burned. Curious, I dismounted and went inside. I stepped on a nail, and while I was staggering in agony, I hit a weak spot in the floor and broke my other leg. FML
Heavy load
Today, I had to place under the carpet another patch of 1/4" plywood over another broken spot in the hardwood floor. My not-so-flatmate refuses to anything about her morbid obesity, and will definitely cost us our deposit when the landlady finds out. FML

Pretty sure that the landlord can be held liable for any injuries due to failure to maintain safe living conditions. Time to lawyer up.

Instead of doing his dirty work for him, why not just look for another place to rent? He could possibly sue you for damages to his property.

Actually by not having documented proof from a third party, he's likely only screwed himself because the manager can just claim the damage is your fault for working on it without permission and evict you.

If there's any records of OP filing complaints- phone calls, letters emails, etc- then the lack of a third party witness won't matter. Having photographic evidence would also make it unnecessary. If there have been any inspections done to the building- which are supposed to be done routinely- that would be another way to make it unnecessary.

Hope you've got proof of your complaints to hold your landlord responsible.
