Today, a few months after my co-worker had stopped wearing her engagement ring, I decided to put on the moves and start flirting with her. I soon found out that her fiancé had died, and that she's nowhere near over him, despite her brave face. I feel like a total asshole. FML

Today, my fiancée handed me her engagement ring back and told me she felt like she's pressuring me into marriage, so to make me feel better about it we’re no longer engaged. On top of this, I found out she’s started talking to her ex again. FML
Today, my fiancée broke up with me over text message while I was away for work. She later posted photos of her and her new boyfriend on Facebook, while still wearing my engagement ring. FML
Today, I got home and my girlfriend was wearing the ring I bought last week. Apparently she found it and thought to herself, "Fuck it, we’re engaged now so I’ll just start wearing it", completely bypassing the actual proposal part of getting engaged. I’m actually really mad at her right now. FML
Today, I found out my fiancée has been sleeping with the salesman I bought her engagement ring from. He knew. FML
Today, I found out that my engagement ring was actually my husband's ex-fiancée's. FML
Today, I found out that my ex-girlfriend got engaged to a coworker. I got her the job. FML
Today, my former fiancée, who I stopped seeing 5 months ago, married another guy. She wore the dress that I'd purchased for our would-be wedding. FML
Today, I got home early from work at 2am to find my girlfriend of 5 years missing. Upon further inspection, I caught the "other man" dropping her off out front. So much for the engagement ring I bought for her. FML
Today, my girlfriend found the engagement ring I'd bought. She looked at it and said, "This is pathetic. You shouldn't even bother." FML
Today, I found out that my fiancée wishes she'd never said yes when I proposed, as she is in love with another man, and has been hiding their relationship for years. FML

Sort of torn - if you could notice her engagement ring on or off, at least try to be a gentleman and ask briefly what happened before busting moves. But there's also no way you could have anticipated something that serious to have happened. I will vote FYYDLI. :U

Maybe you should've gotten closer to her and showed her that you care by actually finding out why the engagement ring was gone? Like just to make sure she is single, and that she's okay before you jump into making the moves. It's always best to find out if the girl is on the market or slightly interested in you before making any sort of move because if we don't show interest, we genuinely am not interested. Having said that, it's not entirely your fault and you seem like a caring person so cant say it's entirely YDI or entirely FYL.
