Today, a crow somehow got stuck in my ceiling. It's been making tons of noise for 9 hours now, including crowing very loudly. I live in a one-bedroom apartment, I have no access to the attic and the property owner doesn't give a shit. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I learned the valuable lesson that taking care of a baby crow isn't the best idea. He finally can fly away, but sits on my porch all day cawing for food. FML
Get out!
Today, the bird that has been stuck in my roof for two days, keeping me awake at night, finally flew out of the roof and into the house. As I was opening the door to send it outside, it flew straight back up into the roof. FML
Mr Heckles
Today, my neighbors in the apartment above me yet again had a loud fight, well past midnight while I was trying to sleep. I stood on my bed and pounded on the ceiling to shut them up. And now I'll have to explain the two fist-shaped holes in the ceiling to my landlord. FML
Hummmmmmmmm
Today, I moved into my brand new apartment, only to discover that there is an annoying, constant hum coming from the ceiling above my bed. FML
Wakey wakey
Today, I was woken up by a bird screaming its guts out. My cat had somehow managed to catch a bird and bring it inside. My 9 a.m. morning began with trying to catch a bird in my own home. FML
I just want to go to bed
Today, it's 1 a.m. and once again a freaking bird has flew into my house from the attic. My cats are of course all crazy right now as it sits in my room, in a high corner beyond reach. My children are sleeping and I have no way to let it outside from where it is right now. Oh and it's freezing outside. FML
Alexa, play "Panic" by The Smiths
Today, I'm now convinced that a series of forlorn, increasingly panicked-sounding little bird-calls are coming from the vents in my apartment. Between my social anxiety and the lockdown, I can see no way to get help. FML
Get it out!
Today, I've been awake since 3 a.m. Why? A bat flew into the house and made its way to my bedroom. We haven't been able to find it. FML
Today, less than a day after my cranky downstairs neighbor passed away, I woke up to banging sounds against his apartment ceiling, like the ones he used to make whenever I walked around during the night. I'm shitting myself in fear. FML
GET OUT
Today, I spent twenty minutes trying to shoo a bird out of my apartment. After finally getting it outside, I closed the window, turned around, and realized I'd locked myself out instead. The bird flew away. I didn't. FML

Can't you call the cops and blame the owner of your apartment for animal abuse?

Why has it taken 9 hours of it before you've called animal control or something? I feel like that's a long time to deal with obnoxious crowing

Hopefully you didn't tell anyone you got the deal of a life time, else they'd probably be telling you to eat crow at this point.

You can always try, the crow will probably die if you do nothing. If the crow dies it will start to rot and ops apartment will start to smell horrible

Or call the cops and blame the owner for leaving it and not getting it out and taking care of the apartment like he's supposed to. Isn't it a breach of contract or something seeing as their the owner/landlord?

Contract breeches are all civil matters. Almost anything landlord-tenant is civil which has to be taken up in court if they won't "settle" outside. Police are for criminal matters.

If you catch the crow, stick it in the owner's home ceiling.

Because torturing animals is always the answer.

haha leave it food and give it a nice home there

it probably won't live very long, but then you have the trouble of getting a dead bird out the attic

Except OP has no access to the attic.

That's why it would be trouble.

They may mean 9 hours since it started. If they went to work and came home and it was still making noise, then the timeline could make it 9 hours without them having had to deal with it for that long. Plus, they had been trying to contact the landlord, likely hoping that they would call animal control.

Obnoxious crowing or a poor animal cooing for help because it's stuck?!

hmmm.. why not both?

Just go crazy on the ceiling with a shotgun. it'll take care of the crow and give you attic access at the same time.

You should have thought about Animal control instead of the owner

Animal control? They should be able to override your landlord...

I can see the next superhero emerging... Captain Crow?

I think your name fits for the answer to your question.

Call animal control. Report animal cruelty. Notify PETA. Your landlord would be in some serious heat!
Kitouran 30
Do NOT notify PETA! They're just as likely to kill it as they are to help it!
