Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my internet was so slow I couldn't even load an internet speed test to see how slow my internet was. FML
Today, I turned in my final worth 20% of the grade. Today was also the day my internet decided to die. FML
Today, we spent an entire day without being able to do work because our internet connection was down. Turns out, only the router had crashed and nobody bothered to reset it "to avoid doing further damage". FML
Today, I spent most of the day doing a project for school. When I finished, I got a call from my project partner. She couldn't finish her part because her internet didn't work. When I finally finished everything, I went on Facebook. She was on Facebook too. FML
Today, I had so much to do, I didn't know where to start. So I didn't. FML
Today, I told myself, "Come on you geek, go outside, get some sun, get your ass away from in front of your computer, go for a walk." I finally mustered the courage to leave my house. Without my keys. I've now been in an internet café for four hours. FML
Today, my husband cancelled our internet and cable package because we’re having money problems. I work from home and need the internet to do so. I guess getting a job of his own wasn’t an option. FML
Today, I got up early because I had a bunch of work to do. It's now 11:50 p.m and I still haven't managed to get anything done. FML
Today, the power went out. Thankfully, it was early in the morning so I should've been able to sleep through it. Then I realized I have an impossible time sleeping during power outages. FML
Today, I found out my dad got Covid after spending the weekend at home. All my classes have me doing final projects, and my dorm's internet is a dumpster fire. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

By the way, if you had an Uninterruptible Power Supply powering your internet modem and router then chances are you wouldn’t have lost the internet connection for battery operated devices like laptops, tablets, smartphones. Just look online at Amazon or your favorite seller for “Uninterruptible Power Supply”. It plugs into the AC power outlet on the wall and you plug your critical stuff into it (such as the modem, router, and internet to phone box if you get home phone service over the internet). Don’t plug high power non-critical devices into the UPS like a TV, stereo, or a desktop computer or printer as they will quickly drain the UPS. Because most internet providers in the USA also provide optional phone services and those have legally required minimum reliability requirements - Most internet providers have backup power built into their distribution system. So as long as you can power your modem and internet router on your end, they will usually stay running during a power outage. (I am an electronic engineer and I have worked in the cable TV industry.)

I can't blame you too much cause of the pandemic, but feel free to take initiative by getting vaccinated and start moving on your feet once more.

It sounds like you may have depression. Talk to a therapist- depression is a serious illness and will only get worse if you don’t treat it.

you got all that from "I don't feel like doing anything when it's dark and stormy outside" ?

It didn’t say OP was tired because it was dark and stormy. It just said he’s tired. And that was the assumption I made based on my own experiences. I’m not necessarily saying is true of course, just throwing it out as a possibility.
