Sure
Today, I went with my fiancé to meet his parents. He was really sweet the whole way there, and once we got there he introduced me as "he girl I'm going to marry." His parents took one look at me and said, "Are you sure?" I laughed, because I thought they were joking. They weren't. FML

Well seeing as you got engaged before meeting his parents i'm assuming you hadn't been dating for very long. So it's quite possible that it wasn't anything against you, The "Are you sure" could of meant "Are you sure you want to get married, you haven't been dating long"

Why didnt you meet them when you two were just bf and gf...? Idk i guess i would rather put a good impression on the parents before announcing any sort of engagement

I have one question: is there no chivalry anymore? I mean if you guys are getting married, shouldn't you have met them beforehand at some point?
